Levotir watched as strangely clothed men examined a burnt notebook, some pages crumbling to dust as they read.
August 17th, 1746
After successfully crossing the forbidden boundaries of life, I have successfully created this unique being. Now, as for its purpose... I will try a few procedures. If it survives, I will try to raise it. Let's see if this life form can be of use for the kingdom.
The rest of the text is unreadable. The strange men gritted their teeth, searing with indignation.
Levotir had come to know these men as part of the "kingdom" the scientist that created her often mentioned. She didn't remember much of her life, only her name. Her wings twitched with fear, hoping the men apart of the kingdom's forces wouldn't find her.
Levotir could sense different people's aura's; the scientist's aura was kind.. now, that of the people before her was all but. Unfortunately, the scientist, who called himself Dr. Olinad, had passed due an explosion that had occurred at the laboratory, hence why the notebook was so out of shape.
The half-dragon kept her tail as still as possible, trying not to exhibit any type of noise stemming from the deep amount of pain she was feeling.
A piece of one of her horns was broken off, and parts of her wings were burned. Levotir felt like she might've died right then and there.
A soldier wearing heavy armor and toting a sword stood before the scientist's notes.
"Sir, it seems we have reached a dead end. No matter how much we read, we cannot understand the language used in the notes."
The soldier spoke with urgency, and Levotir realized there was a bandage dripping with crimson blood where his left arm should've been.
"Hmmm, this is really troublesome. The king himself demanded a new weapon after the defeat by Alagaurn. This is a matter of life and death. Linotore's power itself is on the line. There is nothing we can do but to find this "being" created by Dr. Olinad."
The supposed commander rumbled, before sternly and loudly declaring, "Alright! None of you are leaving this burnt excuse for a lab until we find Experiment #083, understand?"
"Yes, Commander!" The soldiers salute in unison. The soldiers began exploring every corner of the ruined lab.
Outside, a few people were searching the nearby forest.
The commander could be heard bellowing orders.
"Search everywhere. Leave no stone unturned! The scientists have made a mistake by experimenting with life without any regulations from the kingdom.
"They were foolish enough to create something without our consent nor guidance. Now, that foolish being is now loose in our hands and we cannot let that foolish mistake harm our people in any way. No matter the cost, we will find and secure that creature."
Levotir's heart fell as she realized they were searching for her, but she couldn't help but notice how he continuously used the word 'foolish'. She sensed that she had a decision to make. Stay, and eventually get caught and let who knows what happen to her, or…
...flee the scene? But, where might she go?
The forest. But that is where the soldiers are searching.
The city? No, they would be looking for her there too.
The only safe place left might be.... the nearby wasteland. It was an uncharted place with unknown dangers. The wasteland is said to be a place where monsters and demons lurk, waiting to consume innocent victims. Levotir felt the heavy weight of your decision on her shoulders.
Time was running out. Fear pulsed within Levotir as a group of soldiers approached the crumbled wall behind her. Time was running out. Hesitantly, she bolted towards the wasteland—it would be safer there, at least, around creatures somewhat similar to her.
