After the kind of day I had, I deserve a hot water bath, a full blown massage, or simply climbing into bed and sleeping until every part of my body rejuvenates. That is what I have in mind as I unlock our door, except that it is Michael's fuming face that I meet.
"Hey…" I stutter.
"If anyone ever told me that I would be betrayed like this by the woman who means the world to me, I would have shot them on the spot."
I have never known Michael as someone who complains, which means that whatever he is trying to imply is serious.
"What is it this time around, love?"
He shoots me a hard glare, "What is it this time? Is that how it is going to be?"
I walk to where he is standing and try to hug him, but he pushes me away, "Get off me, Sarah."
It is at this point that my heart begins slamming against my chest because I already know that trouble looms around the corner.
