Michael and his shenanigans are what made me call my therapist in the middle of the night to request an emergency session. I had gotten frightened after ending the call where he was threatening to kill himself if I didn't return home within one hour.
My therapist had told me to send him a calming message reassuring him of my love for him even though we would be getting a divorce.
That had worked. Michael called to apologize, saying he didn't know what had come over him. I apologized too, regardless of the fact that I was not supposed to, or even know what I was apologizing for.
When I texted my therapist the update, she insisted that we needed to see each other as soon as possible.
"I feel like this visit is so unnecessary. Why does she want me to come see her even after I have told her that all is fine already?"
"Just go, okay? It's not like you are going to lose anything, would you?"
"Right?"
