It was nearly sunset, and there was no sign of Pranav. I thought of leaving my room but I was scared, I did not know a thing about this place. The only thing that was going on my mind was how was I the chosen one, I was thinking about this just when Pranav came in. With Pranav, I could spot Prakash sir and Pawan, but there was an old with them as well whom I could not identify. He was old an old man, maybe in his eighties, he had a very big beard and I was a little scared when I saw him. He came ahead and patted on my back "At last we've found him, our saviour." I was still shocked and did not know what to do. I asked who he was, and the person replied "Atishay before knowing about me you must know about yourself, you are not the ordinary person that you think you are."
This person had answers to the questions I had, I sat on the ground with my hands folded "Please sir, tell me who am I and why am I here." To this, the old man answered "This story starts 1500 years back when there was a battle, everyone calls it the Holy Battle. It was the fight between Gods and the Demons. The demons always had an upper hand over the gods, as they did not have any rules, they used to fight at night and kill innocent people for no reason. The Gods were in need of a saviour, but it couldn't have been a god. They needed someone who did not have their own rules and would fight for the Gods."
Still confused but a little amazed I continued listening to the old man as he continued with his story "The Gods turned to everyone for help, the humans, the animals, the insects, but everyone had some rules. So they created an army, of organisms that were neither animals nor humans. They were the Garuds, half humans and half animals. They did not have any rules, they just had a cause which was to fight for the good against the bad."
"But that still does not tell me about myself, what do I have to do with all this?" I asked. "After the holy battle between the demons and Garuds, it all came down to one last fight, Kalaviri the demon king against the Garud chief Vayuparna, this battle was watched by every living being from the three realms. Vayuparna defeated Kalaviri, and Kalaviri was turned into a statue that was kept safely." Pawan continued.
"So we did win?" I asked forgetting about the previous question completely. "We did, and after the victory Vayuparna was made the general of the Gods army. Vayuparna was a very wise general, he started training Garuds at the age of ten so that they can get ready for combat battles by the time they turn 15, I was one of them, I was put into practice at a very early age, and with time I was promoted as the head of the Mystical Society." Pawan replied with his eyes shining bright with pride. Still unaware of my role here, I was very confused and Pawan could notice that, he took a long pause as he broke the news "Atishay, 5 years back Vayuparna was killed, and before dying he took your name as the successor, you are one of us, A Garud, our general."
