"I'm Sorry Tom"
Conrad glanced around and saw one person crying as the world grew darker and darker. Tom his son 4 years old, left from a mother who died after he was born.
If Conrad died tom would be left alone an orphan vulnerable and lacking for the outside world.
"Listen to me Tom once I'm gone do whatever it takes to survive"
in these times orphans rarely survived in a world where lineage and bloodlines matter the most having no parents from a common bloodline was lethal.
as Conrad's movements slowly grew stiffer he realized his time had come. As he felt his world slip he prayed to every god and deity he knew that his son would be safe.
Conrad lay still in his bed a boy crying by his side as the boy mournfully took essentials from their once home and left.
A silence overtook the house as quiet as could be not even the sharpest blade could cut the silence.
Conrad awoke the ground was hard, cold and felt like sandpaper. As he glanced around he noticed mountains around him and many other people also starting to stand.
