Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Lord of the Sea Abyss x Researcher (22)

When Ji Qingzhu was carried into the house by Shen Rongyu, the lights in the living room automatically turned on in response to their presence.

The glass wall facing the ocean in the room had not yet been filled with colored gas, allowing for a clear view of the Nightwave Sea.

At this moment, Ji Qingzhu's chin rested on Shen Rongyu's shoulder. She saw the surging waves on the sea. Despite the calm night without wind or rain, the ocean appeared turbulent and presented itself as a deep blue sea crashing against the glass wall, almost shaking the sturdy building as if it were about to collapse.

Shen Rongyu's hand held onto her waist, his arm strong and steady as he embraced her. Ji Qingzhu's feet were suspended in the air, but she didn't feel any unease about her body floating.

His fingertips pressed against her spine through the thin linen fabric, and he gently moved them.

Shen Rongyu appeared calm, with seemingly steady breaths. However, Ji Qingzhu could clearly hear his heartbeat, which resembled the tumultuous waves of the sea. It was filled with joy and excitement, along with a hint of nervousness.

Ji Qingzhu softly asked, "Xiao Yu, are you excited?"

Shen Rongyu stubbornly replied, "No."

"You're lying." She moved his fingertips that were gripping her slim waist, and his silky shirt was pulled out, finally allowing her to touch the cold scales around his waist.

"Do we still need your researcher mindset at this moment, Qingqing?" Shen Rongyu turned his head and bit her earlobe.

"No." Ji Qingzhu furrowed her brows slightly. She said, "Look at the sea."

Shen Rongyu turned around and saw the Nightwave Sea beyond the glass wall behind him. At this moment, his emotions were revealed entirely. He thought he was in control of her, but it wasn't the case. His emotions seemed to be led by her.

He felt restless, uncertain, and experienced joy and nervousness because of her excitement. Even he couldn't control these fluctuations in his emotions.

Shen Rongyu didn't like this sea. It was too honest.

He held her tightly, preventing her from turning her head. "Don't look."

"I want to." Ji Qingzhu pointed to the switch on the table. As long as she pressed it, the colored gas would fill the empty space between the glass walls, blocking the view outside.

"Don't turn it off." Shen Rongyu said in a low voice while still holding her.

"Then I'll look." Ji Qingzhu indicated that he couldn't stop her.

She turned her head and happened to bump into Shen Rongyu's lips. He opened his mouth, and his tongue quickly entered her mouth. Ji Qingzhu's gaze was occupied by his lowered eyes, eyebrows, and nose.

Ji Qingzhu noticed his long eyelashes trembling lightly. She became lost in this kiss and felt that she could no longer breathe. Every time he kissed her, it was like this, refusing to let go, not even giving her a chance to catch her breath.

Her fingers that were placed around his waist tightened. Shen Rongyu carried her and walked forward. After a while, a sense of weightlessness came, and she fell into a soft down comforter.

He was still kissing her, and Ji Qingzhu closed her eyes. She couldn't help but think of the image she had imagined before, which was exactly the same. Even the depth of their breaths was within her expectations.

But different people had different breaths. Why did she imagine such a breathing frequency at that time?

Ji Qingzhu bit her lip, but Shen Rongyu's lips and tongue gently pried open her teeth, continuing the kiss.

When his lips left her lips, Ji Qingzhu exhaled a sigh of relief. She thought she finally had a chance to breathe again. She took a deep breath, sucking in all the fresh air that he had taken away.

Shen Rongyu lowered his gaze to her trembling lips. They were moist and her lip color was luscious. His breathing rhythm was also disrupted.

Ji Qingzhu spoke again, expressing her concerns. "When I designed the construction plans for this house, the materials I chose can withstand up to level 11 wave impact, which is sufficient for shallow waters."

"But I feel like its foundation is shaking." Ji Qingzhu's breath was unsteady, her chest rising and falling, and her voice trembled with inexplicable emotions. Yet, she continued speaking with a rational tone, "Xiao Yu, you don't need to be too excited, or I'm afraid the waves will destroy the house."

Shen Rongyu turned his body, enveloping her with his presence. He extended his hand and pressed Ji Qingzhu's lips, his tone somewhat helpless. "Qingqing, it's all your fault."

She had no idea how captivating she was at the moment, and yet she remained innocent and naive. She knew what had happened and what was about to happen, but she always presented herself as someone unaware of such matters.

—Even to the extent that she wasn't doing it intentionally.

Ji Qingzhu widened her eyes, feeling a bit wronged. "In shallow waters, this level of design strength is already sufficient."

Shen Rongyu finally realized that they were not talking about the same thing. He held her shoulders, and at the same time, Ji Qingzhu felt something she liked wrapping around her—his tail, that long, silver-white tail with neatly arranged scales.

She couldn't resist this temptation and lightly touched the end of his tail, even though Shen Rongyu used to enthusiastically invite her to do so, he now prevented her from touching it.

Ji Qingzhu didn't want today to be the same, so she exerted very little force.

Shen Rongyu lowered his gaze and whispered in her ear, "You can use a bit more strength. You didn't use to be like this."

Ji Qingzhu felt a bit anxious. "But... is it allowed?"

"I'm all yours. Can you say it's allowed?" Shen Rongyu sighed softly.

"But..." Ji Qingzhu still wanted to say, as she respected him and didn't see him as her toy.

However, Shen Rongyu forcefully placed the tip of his tail in her hand, and Ji Qingzhu felt the cold touch of something non-human in her palm.

"Oh... alright... it's on your own..." Ji Qingzhu stammered. It was really hard for her to resist such a beautiful tail.

Meanwhile, Shen Rongyu let out a low breath in her ear, and Ji Qingzhu's hand, which was caressing his tail, froze. She knew she was being too clumsy; she wouldn't harm him, would she? She remembered that his tail had only recently healed.

She froze and dared not move.

Meanwhile, another wave crashed heavily against this seaside house.

Shen Rongyu kissed her lips again and said, "Continue."

Ji Qingzhu's fingertips ran across the exquisite and perfectly proportioned scale pattern on his dragon tail. She felt puzzled and succumbed to her researcher's mindset, asking, "What does it feel like?"

She was contemplating what kind of feeling could cause such huge waves by the seaside.

Shen Rongyu didn't give her time to ponder. He said, "You'll know in a moment."

While Ji Qingzhu was still in a daze, his kiss gradually moved downward. She widened her eyes and heard the soft rustling sound of the smooth fabric brushing against something. The material of the linen dress she was wearing today was soft, with shoulder straps on both sides. At this moment, she felt those two soft straps had fallen down.

In the next instant, she understood the meaning of Shen Rongyu's words earlier. When his fingertips landed on a certain spot, Ji Qingzhu's breath hitched, her body muscles suddenly contracted, her body curled up, appearing as if she were resisting, but she bumped into his fingertips even more.

Her long hair spread out, blocking her vision as she turned her head. Her fingers placed on his dragon tail also drooped softly. At this moment, Shen Rongyu mischievously grabbed her hand and placed her fingertips on the button at his collar.

"I've helped you, don't you want to help me a little?" Shen Rongyu innocently asked.

Ji Qingzhu didn't understand the construction of his clothes. The intricately crafted gold-inlaid button was difficult to fasten, and she rarely bought clothes with such a design herself.

Her fingertips hooked, his fingers still there... She felt trapped in the cage that belonged to him, sweet yet dangerous. And at this moment, his dragon tail moved, gliding through the pure white down comforter, like a snake awakening unexpectedly from hibernation, weaving through the snow.

He found the source of warmth, entwining tightly. Snakes are cold-blooded creatures, so his grip was heavy. When the dragon tail landed there, Ji Qingzhuo closed her eyes, a low voice escaping from her mouth. Her fingers curled, tightly gripping something in front of her, as if searching for support.

The night on the sea remained windless and rainless, but the waves still rolled incessantly. Ji Qingzhuo, with her eyes closed, heard the sound of something breaking, as well as the muffled sound of a small button falling near her ear.

"Oh? Qingqing, so fierce?" Shen Rong bowed his body and asked her.

"I... I'm sorry." Ji Qingzhuo panicked and wanted to retract her hand, but her fingers accidentally hooked onto the collar, causing all the buttons to fall off. She blushed with embarrassment and a hint of despair. "I'll buy new ones tomorrow."

In truth, she was too weak to have enough strength to unbutton them with just a gentle tug. It was Shen Rong who did it on purpose. Ji Qingzhuo didn't even notice this. Her scrambled mind was still thinking that even if she bought new ones for Shen Rong, she definitely wouldn't buy this brand again. The workmanship was too shoddy.

As Shen Rong approached her body, something else also approached her. Shen Rong whispered in her ear, "Qingqing, you didn't collect data on this before, did you?"

Ji Qingzhuo's face instantly turned red. She said, "This... It wasn't within the scope of my research."

"As your boyfriend, future husband, and your possession, is it within the scope of your research now?" he asked.

Ji Qingzhuo took a deep breath, raised her hand, wanting to cover her own ears. This... This was just too... Although she knew Shen Rong liked to say these kinds of things to her, he was really... She was afraid that if she continued to listen, her face would explode from embarrassment.

She felt like an inflated balloon that would burst with just a poke, but Shen Rong kept poking her, one after another. She thought this while continuously retreating, but the more she retreated, the more Shen Rong squeezed her space, until she was confined in a small space under his arm.

"Qingqing," he softly called out, then covered her again.

Ji Qingzhuo bit her lips. She could feel his breath, cold and icy, two extremes from his seductive and tempting appearance. He was dangerous, but she inexplicably liked this kind of danger, as well as the continuous and wonderful sensation from his fingertips and kisses.

It was as if she stood at the top of the waves, supported by this night sea that belonged solely to her. Continuously moving forward, she saw one unknown scenery after another. Although... she was afraid of this height and couldn't help but feel a sharp sense of danger when the waves surged, she couldn't stop.

Ji Qingzhuo placed the back of her hand against her lips. She thought, when she sat in the living room staring at the sea before, the third scene she imagined was about to become a reality. It seemed like a long time had passed, but when a certain sharp feeling came, Ji Qingzhuo didn't bite her hand, but bit Shen Rong's wrist bone instead. His bones were hard, and Ji Qingzhuo thought... it was a bit difficult to chew.

Her breathing became heavy, sinking deeply. However, his voice seemed heavier than hers, continuously enticing her. Ji Qingzhuo's consciousness seemed to fly to the clouds, drifting up and down. Outside the glass wall, the waves of the night sea grew higher and higher. Shen Rong didn't want to reveal his emotions before, so he didn't allow Ji Qingzhuo to see. But now, he cradled Ji Qingzhuo's face and made her turn her head.

Ji Qingzhuo's voice was unsteady as she said, "The house will really get damaged. I feel like the materials used to build it were obviously not enough to withstand such an impact."

Shen Rong kissed her temple and said, "I'm sorry, I'll try to control myself."

But not long after, Ji Qingzhuo's fragmented voice came, "You... you liar."

"My adorable Qingqing, you know I'm the best at fooling people," Shen Rong said confidently.

In the end, Ji Qingzhuo was grateful that her house had a sturdy structure and could withstand the impact of the night sea. She thought that if necessary, she would find a way to redesign and reinforce the materials used to build the house.

Of course, when they first moved here, she couldn't have imagined that such things would happen later. How could Shen Rong do this? It was not only him, but even the night sea followed suit. He was truly wicked.

Thinking this, she lowered her head and lightly bit his shoulder, not leaving any marks. Instead, she left an imprint of dragon scales on his arm where she tightly clung. She had bitten too hard because he was holding her too tightly.

Shen Rong whispered in her ear, "Qingqing, don't worry about me."

Ji Qingzhuo instinctively moved back when she noticed that the dark waves outside the window seemed to be brewing again. She said, "I didn't..."

But Shen Rong lowered his head and sealed her mouth, enjoying holding her tightly. After all, he was a demon sealed under the sea. Even after waking up again and suppressing his claws for Ji Qingzhuo's sake, he had still retained much of his nature.

He was originally a terrifying demon who devoured human souls. Even though he had found something that excited him more now, he was still insatiable. In this world, no demon could learn to suppress their desires.

So, when Ji Qingzhuo woke up the next day, she felt like she couldn't move much. She was already a fragile human, having poor performance in physical education classes since she was little and never liking sports. Now she was lying in Shen Rong's arms and, after opening her eyes, stared blankly at him.

After three minutes of blankly staring, she suddenly realized where her gaze had fallen. Their current state was almost identical to what she had imagined while contemplating the night sea that day. She hurriedly averted her gaze.

But Shen Rong's disappointed voice came, "Huh? Qingqing, why did you stop looking? Isn't it beautiful?"

Ji Qingzhuo was an honest person. She thought, undeniable, it was indeed aesthetically pleasing. So she said in a very low voice, "It's alright."

"Just alright?" Shen Rong lifted her chin with one hand and kissed her lips.

Ji Qingzhuo said softly, "It's very nice."

"I really like you." His kisses fell on her cheeks, with a light touch, like feathers. "Qingqing, you're very honest."

Ji Qingzhuo stammered for a moment but then realized that what happened last night was going to happen again. She squinted at the clock hanging in the room. Today was the weekend, and she usually didn't work.

A long time later, she hugged her pillow, turned her head to look at the night sea outside the glass wall, which was now bright blue as it was daytime. However, the clear ocean still churned up huge waves.

She thought he was truly despicable.

Inside her bathroom, Shen Rong's voice came, "Since when did Qingqing switch to peach-flavored toothpaste?"

Ji Qingzhuo's voice was soft, "A long time ago."

"Because I said I liked it?" Shen Rong casually tried her toothpaste.

Ji Qingzhuo was indeed honest. She said, "Yes."

"Qingqing, you're silly." Shen Rong leaned against the doorframe, smiling at her.

"My IQ tests broke the record of an independent city," Ji Qingzhuo earnestly retorted.

"Even if you switched, I would still like it," Shen Rong picked her up.

Ji Qingzhuo felt annoyed by her current state. She whispered, "There's also durian-flavored toothpaste in the store."

Shen Rong's deep laughter rang out as he dressed her. Ji Qingzhuo rested for a while and then was able to walk, although her head felt a bit dizzy.

She thought, logically, Shen Rong should be more tired, so why was he...

"Curious?" Shen Rong smiled as he looked at her.

"Yes." Ji Qingzhuo instinctively took out her notebook from the pocket of her linen.

"I am not human." Shen Rongyu pressed her hand down. "Do you still want to observe me, Miss Researcher?"

"Do you not understand enough already?" he asked.

Ji Qingzhuo put her notebook on her lap. She thought, she was indeed very curious about him, and this curiosity may not stem from a desire for the truth about unknown food.

"Yes, I really like you." Shen Rongyu saw her blink her eyes, her gaze somewhat puzzled.

"Curiosity sometimes also stems from... fondness." Shen Rongyu looked into her eyes and said seriously, "No matter what the source of your curiosity towards me is, I... am willing to indulge in it."

Ji Qingzhuo softly responded again, her cheeks turning red. She said... okay.

Shen Rongyu's large palm pressed down, covering her cheek. "Alright, Jiujiu, don't make that expression anymore. I know you can't do it again."

Ji Qingzhuo thought, he was really... indescribable.

She lowered her head and picked a random book from her bookshelf, starting to read, trying to divert her attention.

But Shen Rongyu had to lean over, she leaned against the sofa, lacking strength, so he circled his arm around her waist, his long dragon tail curled up - he clearly didn't have to transform, but he knew Ji Qingzhuo liked it, so he deliberately showed this beautiful tail.

Ji Qingzhuo couldn't control herself and sneakily touched it a couple of times, until the sound of an electronic device rang by her side.

It was a call from someone else, and the electronic screen displayed that it was someone from the news department in the independent city.

Ji Qingzhuo answered, and at this time, the excited voice of the news department personnel rang out, "Miss Ji, it's great that you can take a call on your day off, but what happened last night and this morning in the Nightwave Sea was really surprising."

"What?" Ji Qingzhuo asked tentatively.

"There were abnormal waves near the shallow part of the Nightwave Sea, and it lasted until this morning. Miss Ji, since you have been studying the Nightwave Sea, you must have observed this phenomenon. Now we want to interview you about your views on this phenomenon, and we're wondering if we can write it up as a column and publish it."

Ji Qingzhuo felt her face burning up. Since finding out that her boyfriend was a newly elected congressman, these people from the news department have been wanting to interview her.

And she knew the reason behind those abnormal waves, she held onto the electronic device, not knowing what to say.

She thought, in her life, she must never publish the research report on the Nightwave Sea and Shen Rongyu!

Impossible, absolutely impossible. She felt so nervous that she was about to faint.

Shen Rongyu heard their conversation and also saw Ji Qingzhuo's blushing face, so he took the electronic device from her hand.

For the next time, he felt it was necessary to help Ji Qingzhuo handle this matter.

"Hello, this is Shen Rongyu, Miss Ji's boyfriend. Let me explain the abnormal waves in the Nightwave Sea to you." Shen Rongyu's deep and pleasant voice sounded, "
