Chapter 22 - The Great Surprise and the Absolute Contract Anomaly

"This is... How is this possible?"

Roel exclaimed in disbelief, wondering if he had seen something wrong.

His golden soul orb, which had previously been a solid gold color, suddenly transformed into a milky white hue and emitted an intense light.

Not only did his soul orb change, but the red soul orb previously possessed by Freya also transformed into the same white color as his.

Upon witnessing this, Freya was also taken aback, not anticipating a result different from her expectations.

Nevertheless, as the color of the two soul orbs shifted to become white-milk, images and stories from an ancient text flooded her mind, eliciting a beautiful smile to blossom on her lips.

'I didn't expect that it really existed and could happen...' she murmured with deep astonishment and happiness.

Inevitably, she glanced at Roel and noticed that he, too, was gazing at her.

"Are you surprised by this?" Freya asked with a gentle and affectionate tone.

Roel nodded in affirmation, taking a deep breath before finally releasing it.

"That's right, I'm incredibly surprised. I didn't expect the color of a soul orb to change like that after making brief contact with another soul orb. Is this an absolute contract power? It's incredible!" Roel exclaimed in amazement, feeling entirely new to this phenomenon.

Although he wasn't very familiar with soul-related magic, Roel was certain that it should be impossible for the color of the manifestation of a soul orb to change.

After all, the soul orb represents one's soul, and its color should remain unchanged since birth.

These were, of course, the conclusions and theories he had just deduced from his limited understanding of soul magic as well as from his comprehension of fantasy worlds gleaned from the novels he had read in his previous world.

Upon hearing Roel's words, Freya chuckled and shook her head.

"No, Roel. You're mistaken." Her response instantly caused Roel to startle and look at her in confusion.

"Mistaken?" he asked with great curiosity.

Freya nodded and redirected her gaze to the two white soul orbs that were still suspended in the air.

The two soul orbs began to move and rotate around each other as if they were interconnected and possessed a mutual attachment.

"With the Absolute Contract, though it is the paramount soul covenant akin to an eternal marriage vow for our dragon race, the color of the two individual soul orbs involved doesn't typically change. After all, those soul orbs represent one's soul and are exceedingly resistant to alteration; even if it were possible, it would cause harm to the individual," Freya explained with a calm expression, pausing for a moment before directing her gaze toward Roel.

"However, in the history of the dragon race spanning thousands of years, there was a similar incident where our most powerful dragon ancestor, originating millennia ago, made an absolute contract with her partner, also from the human race at the time," Freya continued before finally walking over to Roel and affectionately hugging his arm tightly.

She hadn't anticipated that the events from thousands of years ago, merely considered legends among the dragon race, would happen to her and her loved ones upon making an absolute contract.

The joy she felt was extraordinary, and the effects of this absolute contract differed greatly from the usual.

However, she decided to keep this revelation from Roel, wanting to surprise him in the future.

Just contemplating it caused Freya's face to slightly flush, her body heating up as her breath became slightly labored.

Meanwhile, Roel, upon hearing Freya's meticulous explanation, took a deep breath.

'Sure enough! The color of the soul orb shouldn't change!' Roel marveled at his guess and the theory he had deduced a short while earlier.

Yet, Freya's explanation deepened his understanding of the absolute contract.

He hadn't expected such a rare event to happen to him and Freya at this time.

Could he be so fortunate?

Roel shook his head and glanced at Freya, who was still hugging his arm.

He suddenly became aware that Freya had pressed her huge breasts against his arm, enveloping him in a warm, soft sensation reminiscent of a giant marshmallow.

"Cough! So, that's it. I truly didn't anticipate this happening to us. Perhaps it's fate." Roel pretended to put on a serious face, concealing his embarrassment from the sensation of her huge breasts pressing against his arm.

"You're right, maybe it's fate~" Freya tightened her embrace around Roel's arm and affectionately rested her head on his shoulder.

Regrettably, Freya's actions instantly ignited a strong desire within Roel's body, intensifying dramatically.

Not only that, but his younger brother in the cage was also displaying signs of rebellion, which he could only attempt to restrain to the best of his ability.

"Hum? Roel, why are you shaking? Are you okay?" Freya, sensing Roel's unease, asked with concern.

"Cough! It's nothing. By the way, you mentioned that the ancestors of your dragon race, thousands of years ago, also made an absolute contract with humans like me. Then, who was the human back then?" Roel asked, intending to redirect this embarrassing conversation with his question.

Upon hearing this, Freya nodded and gently released her embrace on Roel's arm, prompting him to let out a sigh of relief.

'The pressure from her enormous breasts is quite hazardous for a healthy and innocent man like me!' Roel muttered shamelessly to himself as he watched Freya approach their two soul orbs, which were still swirling happily together.

A complex expression settled on Freya's face as she slowly raised her gaze towards Roel.

"You might recognize that human figure because he is a very famous figure throughout the world, especially among your human race." Freya's words caused Roel to frown.

"Famous?" he asked hesitantly, trying to recall the knowledge he had acquired from the library about figures connected to the dragon race.

However, there didn't seem to be any matches, given the enmity between the two races of humans and dragons that had persisted for thousands of years.

Recognizing his confusion, Freya sighed and continued, "He was the first Emperor of mankind, the Magic Emperor Zakriel..."
