"You!"
Roel couldn't help but be shocked at the sight of the woman.
Her face was remarkably beautiful, and her perfect beauty defied description, as if sculpted by a god.
Her snow-white hair cascaded down to her slender hips, and her red eyes, cold and dominating, sent shivers down the spines of anyone who beheld her.
She undeniably embodied a fusion of a goddess exuding perfection and a devil instilling distress in her surroundings!
Yet this wasn't the only issue.
In fact, this was the woman he had glimpsed before losing consciousness!
The woman he initially dismissed as an illusion turned out to be the one who saved him?
How could he not be overwhelmed by shock?
On the other hand, the white-haired beauty gasped in astonishment at the sight of Roel, who had regained consciousness.
Her cold, beautiful face briefly showed confusion before returning to its usual composure.
She approached Roel with measured steps, halting right beside his bed.
They exchanged silent gazes, the awkwardness lingering for a while and leaving Roel feeling thoroughly embarrassed.
After all, this enigmatic woman, who appeared to have rescued him, possessed a captivating beauty.
The extended eye contact left Roel feeling somewhat disconcerted and self-conscious.
Swiftly, he regained composure and coughed lightly, attempting to alleviate the awkward atmosphere.
"Cough! Uh... Miss, my apologies in advance. Are you the one who saved me?" Roel inquired cautiously, observing the beautiful white-haired woman intently.
Truth be told, he had never encountered this beautiful woman before and was entirely unfamiliar with her.
Furthermore, the snow-white hue of her hair was exceptionally rare, making this the first instance he had seen someone with such distinctive coloring.
In response to Roel's inquiry, the beautiful woman nodded ever so slightly.
"Yes, I was the one who rescued you when you were unconscious in the middle of the forest," replied the woman in an indifferent and icy tone, sending a chill down Roel's spine.
For some inexplicable reason, he now sensed a subtle yet formidable pressure emanating from this beautiful white-haired woman.
Nevertheless, he quelled any discomfort and offered her a smile.
"Thank you, Miss, for your assistance. If you hadn't saved me in that forest, I might not be here today." Roel sincerely conveyed his gratitude to the beautiful white-haired woman.
Indeed, had she not saved him, he would likely have died, possibly meeting Hades by now.
"It's fine; don't worry about it. Leaving an unconscious body alone in the middle of the forest is impractical. Besides, the wound inside you hasn't fully healed because there's a deadly poison in your system, eating away at your internal body," replied the woman indifferently to Roel's gratitude, dismissing it as if saving him were an ordinary occurrence.
Upon hearing her indifferent response, Roel felt no anger.
Instead, he became intrigued by the woman's mention of the poison consuming his body—a deadly poison, the poison of the king of hell!
He couldn't fathom why he was still alive after being exposed to that damn poison, which should have claimed his life by now.
Without delay, he turned his gaze to the white-haired beauty and posed a curious question.
"By the way, Miss, I apologize for any rudeness, but could you enlighten me on how I was saved? Frankly, the poison coursing through my body is known as the poison of the king of hell—an infamously lethal toxin. Survival is considered impossible once exposed to it." Roel carefully recounted the situation, his tone reflecting a mixture of astonishment.
To be frank, no living creature could endure exposure to the poison of the king of hell.
The title of the world's deadliest poison wasn't merely a scare tactic; it held true to its reputation.
The beautiful white-haired woman didn't immediately respond to Roel's question.
Instead, she looked at him with curiosity, a faint glint of light in her red eyes.
"You appear to be well-acquainted with this poison. I'm intrigued—how is it that someone familiar with this poison can still fall victim to it?" In a peculiar tone, she inquired, her red eyes fixing on him as if he were a fool, causing the corners of Roel's mouth to twitch.
His impression of this goddess-like, beautiful woman somehow took a slight dip.
"Cough! Indeed, I am acquainted with this poison, having read numerous books on the subject, thus possessing some knowledge about it. However, being aware of the poison doesn't necessarily shield me from its effects if someone schemes against me, does it?" Roel responded indifferently, skillfully concealing his embarrassment.
Exactly! Knowing about the poison of the king of hell doesn't guarantee immunity from its effects.
After all, it was a poison so deadly that its recipe was erased from history due to its ferocious nature.
However, he never anticipated that Julius could clandestinely recreate the poison.
If this information became public, it was certain that powerful individuals worldwide would vehemently protest.
The white-haired woman arched her eyebrows upon hearing Roel's words, as if she had just acquired a slight comprehension.
"I see, I understand," she replied casually, took a chair, and seated herself beside Roel's bed.
She cast an indifferent gaze at Roel before continuing, "As I mentioned, the poison is potent and has not been completely cured within you."
Roel froze slightly at her words, his expression betraying doubt.
"So, how am I still alive?"
The beautiful woman took a deep breath and explained, "The reason you're alive right now is because I temporarily halted the effects of the poison."
