Chapter 2
"I'm coming for you Rosie."
"You can't hide from me."
"Not even your boyfriend, that dirty wolf, can save you because I'll take you with me this time."
Rosie turned over in her bed as the disturbing nightmares of Sandra talking kept appearing to her for three good years. Hunting her and her soul.
Rosie finds herself in that familiar desolate room with scratches on the old walls as if it was done with finger nails. A loud hiss made Rosie look around the same familiar room Sandra's ghost had always brought her to.
"Rosie, I'm going to take your soul with me tonight no matter what happens!" Sandra yelled with a sinister smile on her blood stained face just the way she died three years ago.
Sandra was about to pounce on Rosie but she drew backwards quickly as though there was something hot pursuing her away from Rosie.
Standing before Rosie, a huge human-like wolf stood, hiding Rosie behind him with his large body. Its red eyes twinkled with something and Sandra backed off again. The figure was twice an ape with sharp elongated claws and protruding canine, ready to devour whosoever gets near Rosie. It roared loudly, making the ghost wince and dissipate into thin air.
RING RING!
"Damn it!" Rosie cursed and threw her hand towards the table the alarm clock was placed by her. Hitting it furiously the alarm clock stopped ringing.
"I groan lazily. I wasn't a morning person but I've to attend class else I'll be late and that's not good either."
Stretching on the bed, I stood up to have my bath and brush my teeth. It was almost 7 am and class was starting by 9. Well, my chauffeur will drive me today because I'm in no mood for driving myself to school.
Entering the bathroom, I stare at myself in the mirror. Hairs tangled like a bird's nest, dark eyebags and pale chapped lips. This is me every morning. Dressing up wasn't hard and I was done in a few minutes now the real work begins as I apply my make-up. Getting dolled up was the best medicine especially when you're wealthy and intelligent like me.
I picked up my food box from the island and hurried outside to see my chauffeur waiting impatiently. Upon seeing me, he shut his pocket watch and dropped it inside his pocket.
"You're an hour late Rosie, I think your father will want to hear this," he said while making his way towards the passenger door, opening it for Rosie with a small bow.
I giggle and carefully place my food box in the seat and position myself. "It won't happen again, my make-up took a lot of time."
The Chauffeur, Sam sighed and shut the door before walking around to the drivers door and got in. "Rosie, you look beautiful without makeup or makeover."
Rosie smiled a little as it fell from her lips, "you won't understand Sam. In school, the moment you do something the poor do, you'll be humiliated."
"So far, I can see that your father is the wealthiest man out of all their fathers there. You put on make-up or not won't change that fact. Instead, it makes respect come naturally. Self beauty and self admiration Rosie. When you meet the right person, you'll understand." Sam replied with a smile on his lips.
*
"Bye Sam," Rosie waves at the car slowly pulling out of the school parking lot with some students staring at her.
'The right person?' Rosie asked within herself and the next moment, Damon's face formed inside her head. Why does that idiot always occupy my mind? She groaned and walked towards the college building along with other students.
Just when she was about to bend into another corridor, whisperings filled the air suddenly and giggles resonated amongst the girls.
'He's so handsome and gentle aww,' a girl nearest to Rosie slurred and the former rolled her eyes.
Why was it always him? Before him, it was Jude now, that had been taken.
"ROSIE!" Sandra called from a dark isolated corner in the school.
Rosie jolted in shock and bumped into another girl in fright, shaking profusely as the voice kept calling her name.
"Hey Rosie, how's that ugly boyfriend of yours?" Some girls mocked Jude and her not knowing what she was passing through that moment.
"She looks like a psycho, why is she shaking?"
"Maybe she's actually sick."
Damon, who was walking by, saw the girl's commotion. At first, he didn't care but when he saw Rosie shaking as though something was chasing her, he rushed to meet her where she was having her back to the lockers and her head buried in her knees.
"Hey, are you alright?" He asked.
"Rosie," Sandra's ghost called again and this time Damon felt something. The old Janitor's office that was now isolated emitted a thick aura. Damon looked at the place and back at Rosie who was now looking at him.
"You heard it right?" She asked and he nodded his head.
"What's going on here! How dare you touch my girlfriend like that?" Jude pushes Damon away and helps Rosie up.
That was the real Rosie, the scared and guilty one, not the pompous and famous Rosie.
Despite coming to her rescue today, Rosie glared at Damon with contempt as the teacher came into the class with the weekly test results.
"Good morning class, it's nice after being back from the weekends. Your weekly test results are out and kindly fetch yours as your names are being called.
"Miss Rosie Ragnar, you need to work on yourself after this. It's such a shame that a new intake beats you to taking the highest score of the week." The teacher said and passed her result paper to Rosie.
She then looked at Damon who was sitting a few seats away from the front. "Mr Ramsey, you did well. See me in my office by the end of this week. There's a project I thought of giving to Miss Ragnar but I see you're more competent than her. Congratulations." She said and placed Damon's weekly result on his desk before walking out of the class.
