Chapter 21 - Trial

——

One of the fire wyverns held him tightly by the shoulders as they flew towards one of the mountains in the distance, compared to the rest of the peaks, this particular one stood out, both in height and sight.

He allowed the dragons to continue to take him towards the mountain. It's not like he could escape anyway, and even if he tried to, he had a feeling they could easily take care of him if they felt like it.

Eventually, they got closer to the top of the mountain where he could now see an extremely huge castle resting atop the peak of the mountain. The sheer size of the castle was half as huge as the entire districts of Whiterun. The top of the castle was open, where the dragons dropped him down into as they landed behind him.

He landed softly with his hand, somersaulting as he pushed himself off the floor with his palm, landing on his feet. Behind him, the two dragons bowed their heads, while one of them spoke.

"We found this one right at the entrance of the city. How he was able to enter and what his intention was, we have yet to know"

Looking into the direction the dragons were facing, he saw a dragon with crimson red scales seated atop a throne. Now that he had a few seconds to peep around, he noticed the throne room was a little less shiny than those of other races, especially humans of course.

Molten lava flowed through tiny channels in the floor, giving it an ancient feel. The throne wasn't crafted with precious metals of jewels, twisted petrified trees formed the base of the throne, molten lava flowing through them as their branches extended upwards.

The dragon sitting atop the throne exuded a crazy amount of pressure just sitting there, gazing at him. It was of the same race as the dragons that brought him here, but it was bigger and way more powerful than the two of them combined and its eyes seemed to hold the wisdom of a centuries.

The dragon opened its mouth as it spoke, "This one is no trespasser." His eyes showed elation before quickly returning to normal. "For one to even be able to pass through the barrier, they must either have destroyed it or have access to pass through in the first place."

"Although I can already tell what his intentions are now, it wouldn't hurt to hear it from the horse's mouth. Child, why are you here? And how were you able to pass through the dragon's maw?"

Hushed whispers were heard all over the room. It's been an awfully long time since they heard him addressing a non-dragon as intimately as that. They immediately paid more attention to this elf.

Looking straight at the Dragon King, Lucian replied, "Dragon's maw? I don't know what that is. I was sent here by Falkor to meet with the Dragon King, who I'm assuming to be you. As to why he sent me, it'd because I am the dragonlord." The last bit he said with added pride.

After he mentioned, the name 'Falkor', gasps filled the room. The groups of dragons on both side of the room all had expressions of shock and bewilderment as they gossiped amongst themselves.

'Falkor? Surely that's impossible, right?'

'Yeah. It's been what? 400 years since I heard his name from any mouth.'

'It's probably a ruse. There's no way a mere elf with their shortened lifespan knows about one of the strongest warriors in dragonhold's history.'

Immense pressure immediately bore down on Lucian, as a dragon stepped forward, it's eye laced with a hint of anger, "Where was the place where you saw Falkor and why are you here alone?"

"Control your anger, Mushu." The dragon king said, adjusting in his chair. Even though he told the advancing dragon to control his anger, he still laid back, watching the show. He wanted to see how the dragonlord would handle the current situation.

Lucian took a step forward and stared back into the eyes of the dragon, "Why not ask him yourself?"

Immediately, he infused the soul print Falkor left ono him with some magika essence, causing a blue energy to cover his entire body shortly before it took the shape of a dragon.
