It was dawn when he woke up. Saphira was right beside him, her eyes still brimming with energy. He patted her on the head as he got up, "Good job."
He grabbed an apple from his inventory and bit into it wondering what to feed his pet dragon when he caught something shocking from the corner of his eyes.
The wolf they killed yesterday remained of nothing more than bones. He then looked at Saphira who turned her head down like a thief who've been caught red-handed. He then remembered the short note he got under the pet tab.
"I guess that settles it then." he said packing up and leaving the house.
Getting outside as he looked at the horizons, he remembered that he had no idea where to go and just couldn't randomly start walking in one direction because of the dangers of this world.
Using his skill, he asked Saphira if she could fly. Enthusiastically, she bobbed her head up and down and fly upwards about a meter high before dropping back to the ground, as if to make her point.
Keeping the skill active, he got her to fly overhead and scout for the nearest huge settlement in the area.
When she got down, she used her head to hint towards a certain direction and they immediately set off. He needed to find a major town where he could get a map and maybe some job to get a few necessary survival items.
After walking for about half an hour, they sighted a huge clearing in front, it was completely bare with not a single vegetation growing. It looked like there was something in the middle.
Saphira then started running towards it.
"Hey! Wait! Saphira!" He ran after her towards the clearing.
When they finally arrived at the area, he discovered an illusory barrier surrounding the area and in the middle of the clearing lay a very huge skeleton of an animal.
"Hey... Isn't that the skeleton of... a dragon? Then this is most definitely a dragon burial site"
He's read stories and myths that when dragons are about to lose their breath, they do it in a secluded place, sealing their power within their bones.
He brought his palm closer to the barrier and tried touching it. Unexpectedly though, his hand ended up passing right through the barrier.
"Hmm? I thought dragon remains were generally known to contain a lot of power."
"Maybe there's a certain resistance that comes with the dragonlord title."
He entered the barrier with Saphira who followed closely behind him.
Now, inside the barrier, he could suddenly feel a great deal of intense energy radiating from the bones of the dragon.
"What immense power! This was definitely a strong dragon in his prime."
Slowly, he continued on, inching closer and closer to the dragon's remains. Beads of sweat rolled down his face as he inched closer. The closer he got to it, the harder it got for him to breathe

He had almost fainted when he finally made it to the bones. Immediately he got to it, the pressure diminished.

His level immediately jumped to 3, giving him 2 skill points.
The dragon soul appeared out of thin air, flapping it's wing as it levitated in the air. Even though this was just the dragon soul, it was freaking huge.
It opened its mouth, "I thought I might have to wake a couple more centuries before the next dragonlord came around, but maybe by then, my essence would have thinned out into nothing. Dragonlord, what is your name?"
"Lucian", he said, relaxing a little when he felt no hostility from the dragon.
The dragon descended, sizing him up a little. "I am Falkor, previously one of the elder dragons. Looks like you just recently unlocked your talent as a dragon lord. You will need to become stronger, fast. Because a war is looming, creeping up from within the shadows. And the dragon race will eventually meet despair at the hands of the coming war."
