Nova Roma.
I sat on the oceans floor at a depth that would have crushed an ordinary humans bones and made their organs Into a jelly.
I Inspected the ocean flora and tracked the various oceanic life forms surrounding me with my augmented crimson eyes that had no problem seeing In the dark.
I could still hold my breath for a couple of minutes but a sudden tremor and a blinding light that Illuminated the ocean floor made me change my mind.
"For f*cks sake what the f*ck Is going on now?!"
I cursed In my mind.
"Can't a man have some peace and quiet once In a while?"
I grumbeled as I swam to the shore, It didn't take long before my feet touched the ocean floor.
As they did I started walking forward, the emoment my head popped out of the water I Inhaled greedily filling my oxygen deprived lungs to the brim with fresh air.
Only for the sound of sirens to assault my ears, I looked up to the sky only to see a big ass ball of energy that was beginning to diminish.
That's definitely not Einherjar, It's not capable of producing that kind of explosion even If all of Its fusion plants explode at one time.
I thought only for fully geared up and armed seargeant Mirov the commander of my death squad aka the death marines speak up after running up to me while the rest of his squad formed a protective circle around me.
"Imperator we need to get you to Fenrir's den ASAP!"
Seargeant Mirov said In one breath, hearing this I scanned the vicinity around me which was as empty as a ghost town.
"Since you're on foot I take It we got hit by an EMP?"
I asked as we started running towards the Imperiale Palace.
"Yes Imperator all of our defenses are down and so are our birds though Its temporary our systems are already rebooting themselves they will be up and running In no time"
Seargent Mirov explained.
Good thing I decided to Include the anti EMP safety measures for all of our equipment.
I thought only to hear seargeants Mirovs roar.
"Ewryone get down now!"
Sergeant Mirov's urgent shout shattered the tense silence, his armored hands gripping my bare muscular shoulders with a force that sent me stumbling downwards.
Before I could react, he shoved me to the ground with a strength that left me winded, his voice roaring above the chaos.
"Incoming!"
The warning was barely out of his mouth when a blazing inferno streaked through the sky, hurtling toward us with terrifying speed. It was a cockpit, engulfed in flames and hurtling towards the ground like a falling star.
For some reason my hearts started pounding in my chest as I watched, the fiery ball passing just inches above our heads. The heat was intense, slightly searing my augmented skin even from this distance, and the roar of the flames drowned out all other sound.
With a deafening screech, the cockpit crashed onto the asphalt, sending a shower of sparks and debris flying in all directions as It glided forward until It lost Its momentum. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the ground, rattling my augmented bones, organs and leaving my super sensitive ears ringing.
I stood up In a trance and started walking forward, with each step the voices In my head became louder.
Close, closer, closer...
The countless voices speaking all at once kept on repeating themselves.
"Imperator! Imperator!"
I could hear seargeants Mirov razor as he shook my shoulder violently but to no avail.
"Alpha fireteam take point, bravo secure the back!"
Seargeants Mirov barked after seeing that I was Intent on reaching the horribly deformed burning cockpit.
Hearing his orders the death marines sdid just that they raised their rifles and formed a protective circle with me In the middle.
As they scanned their sectors like hawks with their armored Index fingers on their triggers and their safeties off ready to unleash lead at the first sign of trouble.
...
Pain the like she had never felt before seared through Isabella's body like a relentless inferno, every movement sending waves of agony coursing through her melting flesh.
She tried to scream, to release the torment that plagued her, but her vocal cords were nothing but charred remnants, incapable of producing sound.
With every agonizing inch, Isabella dragged herself out from the burning cockpit, her hands leaving streaks of boiling blood and charred flesh on the scorched ground.
The flames that engulfed her body seemed to mock her, devouring her flesh with merciless voracity as if determined to snuff out the last flicker of life within her.
It hurts! It hurts! It hurts!
The words echoed in her mind, a silent cry of anguish that went unheard amidst the roar of the flames.
Tears mingled with the sweat and blood that coated her face, her vision blurred by the searing pain that threatened to consume her.
But amidst the chaos and suffering, a single thought burned bright in Isabella's mind like a beacon of hope in the darkness.
I need blood, blood, blood... I need blood.
It was a primal instinct, a desperate plea from the depths of her being as her body fought to regenerate itself, to heal the wounds that threatened to tear her apart. With every heartbeat, she felt the relentless hunger gnawing at her insides, driving her onward with a single-minded determination.
Crawling on forearms and knees, Isabella's gaze fixated on the figure that loomed before her like a specter of salvation.
It wasthe getting closer to her Dracula, a lifeline in this world of pain and despair, and she would stop at nothing to reach it.
Each movement was a Herculean effort, every breath a struggle against the suffocating heat that threatened to consume her.
But still, she pressed on, her partially bony fingers clawing at the ground as if to pull herself closer to her salvation.
And then, with a final surge of strength born from sheer desperation, Isabella collapsed at the feet of Dracula, her body still partially enveloped In flames trembling with exhaustion and pain.
But even as darkness threatened to claim her, she reached out with trembling hands, her silent plea echoing in the empty expanse of her mind.
"Save me..."
...
"F...!"
Just as sergeant Mirov was about to pull the trigger himself while giving the same order for his men I overrode him.
"Delay that order!"
I barked as I knelt down on my right knee while looking at the female humanoid charred corpse which looked like It came straight from a horror movie.
"Save me..."
The grosteque voice that didn't belong to a living came out In an unknown language as a whisper but I heard It clearly thanks to my augmented senses and somehow understood It clearly.
Somehow I knew exactly that she needed, before my mind could process my actions my body moved on Its own.
I sank my nails into the side of my neck and violently pulled them back causing my skin to peel off and blood start seeping out.
Before the blood could cougulate and the wound scab I grabbed the living corpse and brought It's mouth to my neck.
To the schok of my warriors who watched me with dumbfounded eyes as they saw the corps sink It's blackened fangs Into my neck and start gulping down my blood greedily.
As It did the body started regenarating at naked eye visible speed, the visible charred organs rejuvenated themselves to prestine condition, new muscle tissue grew rapidly, broken bones pieced themselves back and limbs snapped back to their places
The melted skin cracked open revealing new snow white perfect skin without any sign of Impurities.
New lush black hair with streaks of purple and red with the same color luster grew out.
