"As you might have already known, Novaneo is the biggest and most powerful planet in this universe for the time being."
Having conquered multiple worlds and also achieving the best technology yet, we have been know all over by neighboring planets and universes.
We have discovered many new things, dug up many resources, unlimited sources of energy and riches.
Using the technology we have and the resources that we have found, our system now has world in the world that is being explored by our people.
We call this place The Alterian World.
Now this place wasn't built by us, it was found. It was like an ancient ruin that was hidden, a structure situated on a mini planet.
Throughout further exploration, we discovered a portal 100 meters underground the complex. It was an unlit portal due to its poor condition. There was a chest near the portal and there was only a scroll inside.
The scroll mentioned us on where the portal leads to, which obviously is the Alterian world, and have given us some details about it.
It's like an adventure game, where you can level up, create new things, have battles with others, and create new things. However, the difference is the people actually get to experience the world first hand, and just like a game where you can respawn and etc.....which you will understand when you get into the portal itself.
The Alterian world has now become our main source of power. Training of adventurers using all sorts of powers imaginable to mankind, this place holds it all.
New technology and innovations have been even further achieved due to this treasure tove of information that we have found.
In simpler words, it can be compared to Google, but thousands of years ahead into the future with much better information using more physical ways to receive. As by saying this, we have some special forces that bring us new information about the new researches that they have found out at their world.
Due to us being the first kingdom which have been able to find the portal, we now own the Alterian world and some of our high level generals including me, can all have access to the game anytime we want and just like game admins, their are certain commands that can be issued for us to prioritize anytime we want. Of course, there are limits to this power due to the original rules of the world itself.
In Novaneo nowadays, a big goal for a person is to achieve high results in the Alterian world.
Have you noticed that some of the people here seem peculiar ? Like acting as if they're lifeless ?"
Gary thought to himself, there were people who did ridiculous stuff such as lifting 10 dishes at a time in the restaurant he worked in and impressing people with their inhuman entertainment skills, but he didn't notice anything totally off.
"No, I haven't quite seen anyone like that."
"Well I'm satisfied with what we have achieved." Said Noble. "Some of the rich and people with suitable abilities have been selected to play in the Alterian world. We allow them to leave behind an npc version of themselves to fill in the role or job that they have in the society.
However there are some rules and specific details that you need to know first before joining in this world.
1. If you take a step into the portal, going back is no longer an option for you unless you complete some missions that would be impossible to achieve unless you have been playing for a long time. Normal participants cannot just come and go whenever they want like the higher ranks that need to complete work in Novaneo.
2. Your salary will be all in the hands of the government, and whenever you wanna quit and retire after the game, your in game money and salary will be given to you based off the circumstances by then. We plan to make the Alterian world become powerful, and bring it into the universe introduced as a 'secret project'
3. You actually need to pay a high fee for entrance but for you since you've been personally admitted by me you don't need to worry about that at all."
Gary asked, " But how will the controls work like a game. For example storing items inside your inventory or the pain meter and respawn stuff, to make it like a game ?"
Noble answered, " You will receive a book when you start the game which can tell you anything you need to know and learn about what to do in the Alterian world. We have copied the original book that was provided in the world and they are distributed to new players when they enter"
"So by asking so many questions, I think you would agree to the experience ?"
Gary was still wondering why someone like him was chosen just because he had some power emitting from him. Being a highschool graduate from quite a prestigious university, he was smart enough to know that there was another reason to the matter.
But at the moment, his culinary career wasn't going so good. And he knew rejecting this once in a life time offer by Noble would probably the biggest mistake that he would be regretting in the future.
"Hmm well I can tell you're feeling doubt on why I'm offering you such an opportunity" Noble said out of nowhere"
Gary was surprised to notice that Noble had flawlessly read his thoughts even tho he had tried his best to keep his thoughts hidden away from his face.
"Well how do you assume that why I am doubting you ?" The words slipped out before he realized it sounded a little abrupt.
But Noble didn't seem to mind. He again replied.
"We are gathering talented young people into our kingdom to try and improve it, you can call it as a scholarship. And tho I don't offer such a good deal as I have given to you today, I do help them with similar offerings to pique their interest towards this experience."
"There is also a little prophecy that has been written down about a reincarnation of a past legendary hero, which probably doesn't really make sense on how it's related to this matter but you'll eventually understand."
In a tired yet powerful voice, the same question was repeated again.
"So what do you think about participating into this experience ?"
With a set mind, Gary gave his answer:
"It's an honour to be given such an opportunity from you, Sir Noble, to embark on this new journey on this unique land."
"Therefore, I have decided that I'm in"
