Chapter 53 - Chapter 54 – One Sided Defeat.

"…"

"Okay…. What in the actual fucking bullshit hell was that? I mean like, there was literally 0% of winning that!" – said the man that uses the nickname ClownFrog.

"Not only she one shoted every monster me and Shri had, even the tanky ones, but also she could also two shot Rampage that was a most powerful tank we had in the team."

"On top of that, she barely took any damage even after we throwed every bullshit we had at her!"

"She even had an auto active that activates when she kills a player that gives her a huge boost in speed, to the point that even Shri who was quiet fast was easily outrun."

"Pretty much, after she killed the Rampage, she began activating that skill and killing each party member one by one."

"What in actual hell was that?!"

(All of us were level 200 just like the boss. We had a proper equipment and even titles to boost our strength, Rampage probably had one or two titles herself, since she knew about their existence.)

HOWEVER ALL OF THAT MEANT NOTHING TO THAT BOSS.

"Even if we manage to bring 25 or maybe 100 people party, the results would probably the same."

"Is this a power of the "Unique" monsters?"

"…"

"…"

"No."

"This is not it. That monster was straight up too powerful. Back then when we fought the minotaurs, they were indeed strong and that one minotaur manage to survive our barrage of attacks, but it was about to get killed before the two others minotaurs jumped in."

"We had a chance at winning that fight if there was less minotaurs or if we somehow manage to get our titles earlier on, maybe we would have been able to take all of those minotaurs, expect the chieftain."

"That Forgotten Bride strength was too big."

"By any chance she is a gimmick monster?"

[Gimmick Fight]

[Many different games have something called gimmick fight.]

[For example, the enemy won't take any damage at all until he began charging his attack, at that moment you are able to attack and defeat the enemy.]

[Or for example a boss fight where the boss can't take any damage at all no matter how powerful you are and the only way to damage it is for example wait for the specific attack patten that boss do. For example: The giant robot monster shots its hand at you and if you counter it and sent it back at the boss monster, the boss monster would finally takes damage and this is the only way to deal any damage to it in the first place.]

"I should inform others about this." – said the man before picking up the phone next to him.

["Hey, I need to talk to you all right now."] – ClownFrog.

["Is this about that boss fight?"] – Oron.

["Of fuking course it's about that boss fight! We need to talk about this! What kind of bullshit fight was that?!"] – Shri.

["I don't fuking get it! We are all level 200 but we all got one sidedly beat up?!"] – Rampage.

{{Rampage was temporarily added to the friend list and was included into new group chat.}}

["Yea. None of our attacks did any real damage to it and we all even got one shoted."] – GreyHunt.

["Yeb. There is no way we can win that fight, even if we were to bring 100 people with us."] – ClownFrog.

["However, I think that fight maybe not about a straight up fighting the boss, but instead the boss fight has gimmick."] – ClownFrog.

["Gimmick fight? Like where you have to hit the boss weak spot or use the boss attack against itself?"] – Shri.

["That would kind of make sense, considering that we couldn't do anything when we tried fighting her head on."] – Oron.

["For fuck's sake. So, we died like idiots then!"] – Shri.

["Well, none of knew that it was gimmick fight in the first place, so there is no use raging around."] – GreyHunt.

["But here is question, what is the gimmick? Should we look around that room she was in and try to find any secret things or something?"] – GreyHunt.

["Well, my undeads and Shri monsters got all killed like nothing, all of them got one shoted with just basic attack and Rampage even with all her defensive skills up, she died with 2 hits. I don't think we can even stall her for even a minute or something."] – ClownFrog.

["On top of that, we don't know what other special attacks she has. I can spread my undeads around, but I doubt that would even buy 30 seconds."] – ClownFrog.

["Then the fuck do we do?! Should we look for more people or something?"] – Shri.

["No. Too many people would only make things harder instead. She had skill that activate automatically when she kills the player that granted her massive boost in movement speed, to the point she was the fastest being in the entire room. Pretty much the Rampage death caused a chain reaction that got us all instantly killed one by one."] – ClownFrog.

["We need to first find out what the heck is her gimmick before thinking of looking for the new people. But honestly speaking, I don't want to share the reward with too many people, so I would like only to add new members if we have no options left."] – ClownFrog.

(Still, what could her gimmick be? It's obviously not a time limit survival, since there is no way, we can even survive THAT. The boss monster looked right at us when we entered the room and began charging straight at us, so it's not like she will wait for the enemy make the first move.)

(Do we have inspect that room she was in or something?)

(But there is no way we would have enough time to do any real inspecting.)

(We can look around and die over and over, trying to gain as much info as possible. But first, we would not only be able to play for the long time because of the death penalty, but we would obviously lose levels if we do that stupid bullshit.)

(There is also the fact that the Rampage quest has a time limit, so that means we obviously can use that method.)

[Death Penalty]

[When the player dies, the player will experience serval punishments.]

[Player will lose 1/3 their current level EXP – Example: User level 4. User need 12 EXP to level up to level 5. If the user dies the user will lose 1/3 necessary EXP to level up, so they would lose 4 EXP. The EXP lose can cause the player to lose a level.]

[Player has a chance of dropping an item upon the death with 5%. 10% if killed by the NPC. 15% chance of dropping equipped If the user is killed by another player. If the user drops the item, the item dropped will depend on the rarity. For example: You have 40% chance of dropping common rarity item, 30% for rare, 15% for epic, 10% for unique and 5% for legendary.]

[The chances of dropping items equipped by the uses has lower chance of dropping, but it doesn't mean that they can't drop, unless they are bound or have protection against dropping upon death.]

[if you attack another player first that does not possess too high karma points, you will experience bonus 5% chance of dropping an item.]

[The user will also experience the death ban, meaning the player will be unable to log in again for specific amount of time. The ban duration can change depending on the circumstances.]

[The players with level 100 and below will only experience half of the death penalty time, item drop rate chance and the EXP lose. The penalty for the players with level 50 and below is only 1/4 of the original penalty.]

[If the user possess a karma points, the death penalty maybe influenced.]

[If the user dies in the hostile territory, for example enemy kingdom the user death penalty will be influenced.]

"We already screwed up today. We went to the boss as soon as we all reached level 200, so that obviously means we lost a level and are again level 199 and we even got banned…. Shit." – said GreyHunt.

"We meet Rampage during her 15 day of doing the quest. We spend 6 days while hunting, meaning that 21 days passed after Rampage accepted the quest." – said Oron.

(Currently we leveled up a hell of a lot, thanks to the swamp hunting ground. Not there are strong monsters but also a high level and even there is a lot of them. Literally they are perfect hunting ground!) – though ClownFrog while looking at his phone.

(Our leveling up speed is quite fast, but when we were doing the minotaur quest, we wasted whole 10 days. I say we are still ahead of average players in terms of leveling up, but there no telling when they will catch up to us.)

"I say we can at least fail up to 3 more times. Afterwords, if we fail again, we maybe end up behind the other players in terms of leveling."

(If we were to by any chance revive that queen and wadge war against the kingdom, we will obviously end up fighting other players.)

(When we destroyed those two villages to gather the necessary souls, the adventure quest posted a quest that target us. There is a good chance the kingdom would pull something like this, like fighting against the revived queen and her fallowers A.K.A us, the players.)

(We will fight players and we need to grow stronger before something like that happens. We also need to revive the queen her self before other people grow too powerful.)

(However, we can't just rush and try to revive the queen as fast as possible, since we still need to get stronger and we don't know what we will be fighting on our way or after reviving the queen. We came across already powerful NPCs, monsters and even players. Things will go in the way none of us is able to predict.)

(We can't waist too much time doing this quest, since we have to continue getting stronger. If worst comes to the worst, we will have to abandon Rampage.)

"But how can we find that boss gimmick? We can't buy any time with undeads or Shri monsters and if Rampage try to slow the monster down, she will die and that chain reaction will happened again and all of us would then die."

"Do we really have no option but to die over and over again in order to even have chance of finding something?"

"…"

"No."

"This is way too stupid. It doesn't matter if you are fast or tanky, you will die pretty quickly. Would the developers really design the fight this way?"

"Since there no way we can inspect this entire room within 30 or 20 seconds, maybe by any chance the clue isn't inside of that boss room at all? That would make some sense, but Rampage inspected the entire ruins while looking for that vampire servant, so she would find something odd or out of place already while inspecting that place. She isn't smart but she is NOT DUMB!"

"Then maybe outside of the ruins?"

"…"

"Nah. The ruins looked like they were buried and there nothing above ground expect a swamp. There is no we can find anything above ground."

"Then do we have to use some sort of special item related to the boss? In some games the boss is like a god and cannot be harmed until you bring something like "The screw immortally cheat" item thing that makes the boss no longer be invincible."

"But is there even a thing like that in the first place?"

(Think you bloody idiot. Was there anything, ANYTHING that stood out.)

(The boss room had a weeding decorations and the boss is a bride. Does that mean she was planning to marry somebody?)

(The monsters inside of the dungeon were undead monsters, so by any chance the boss is also an undead? Her face did looked rotten like a corpse.)

(But we don't have any light or holy element users in our team. However, would even having one be even useful for us in our current situation?)

"…"

"Fuck me…. This is straight up stupid. I can't think of anything that really stood out or had any great importance…. To…."

"…"

"Wait."

"There was one thing that stood out!"

"These trash mobs!"

"Why were those weakling inside of the dungeon?! Even Rampage with level 140 was easily able to beat them without breaking a sweat!"

["RAMPAGE!"] – ClownFrog.

["?"] – Rampage.

["When you were trying to clear those ruins before, did you by any chance killed all the monsters inside of it before going to the boss?"] – ClownFrog.

["???"] – Rampage.

["Well, I did? They were weak and didn't gave a lot of EXP, but I could kill them without any trouble, so I could get easily some free EXP without wasting too much time."] – Rampage.

["But why do you ask?"] – Rampage.

["I think I know the reason why that boss was so strong. It was because of those trash mobs! They are way too weak because they are bait! I think the reason why that boss was so strong was because we were killing those monsters! They sole purpose was to die so they can power up the boss. That would explain why such weaklings like them were in the dungeon in the first place!"] – ClownFrog.

["So, you are saying that, if we kill none of these zombies roaming around, the boss would be much weaker?"] – GreyHunt.

["I don't know. This is just a straight up theory. I could be wrong, but its worth testing it out. We will try it on our next try."] – ClownFrog.

"I hope this is a right answer."
