Dyke.
That is the name of the world I created and I gave it eleven provinces. Dyke is a modern day fantasy and sci-fi world where the story [Regnant Sorcerer] happens.
....Dyke's map is like a chili. Don't judge me, I like hot staff.
Two races live on Dyke ever since the start of time which are Humans and Ashes.
The Humans live on the bottom part of the chili which is the smaller part and they have five provinces. The Ashes also have five provinces but they are bigger. The Central province is where the War between The Human and Ashes is happening.
The Central province used to belong to the Humans fifty years ago, but after the Nano province which used to be a War Zone was taken, the humans were pushed down.
What are Ashes?
There are soul monsters that take over the host body through a dream, more like parasites, but this ones takes over a person's soul and begin living in it, as they take full control of every action that body makes.
Only Ashes inside a host can see Ashes without a host.
Ashes are ranked from the weakest, Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, Disaster, Demon, Devil, World, God and each rank has the sub-levels 1, 2, 3.
When an Ash enters a dream it provides a test for the host and if the host wins he/she gets a soul core- I will get down to that later.
The Ashes are born from the Ash Cooker in the Arrow Province which is the main Province of the Ash Union, which is currently led by four World Ranked Ashes whom are waiting for Marisa to find a perfect host.
...Which is me.
Humans are divided into two groups which are Awakened who can use Aether and Aetherless humans.
Aether is divided into two parts, mana and Aura. The two can not be found in the same body. People with mana are more valued than people with Aura because they can use both magic spells and Weapon attacks.
Humans with Aether are ranked from the weakest, Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Black, Chaos, Regnant and just like Ashes they have three sub-levels, 1, 2, 3.
Every person with Aether has a soul weapon even Ashes. The soul weapons vary from being to being and there are also ranks among them.
From the weakest, forth grade to second grade. The medium powerful, first grade, earth grade and heaven grade. The most powerful ones are Divine and Mythical grade.
There is the evolving soul weapon which I gave to my protagonist, but now I am not sure if he is the only one.
A person can have two or more soul weapons and they Share Aether with their owner. The higher the rank of the soul weapon, the bigger the potential of the owner. If a soul weapon is destroyed that person will lose the ability to use Aether, unless for those with more than one soul weapons.

"That is what I am talking about." I wanted to smile at the blue translucent screen that had just vanished from my sight, but seeing Ace status window that was far different from what I think I gave him, made me frown even though I couldn't thanks my busted face.
A person can't go past their potential unless they eat the Limit Breaker fruit which I am sure is already in the stomach of someone at this moment.
They are two ways to increase a persons rank, first is to feed the soul weapon the soul cores from Ashes and the second is to gather mana/aura from the atmosphere into a person's body.
"Ace of Hearts."
A glow of light covered my palm before a playing card materialized. It had a checked red and black formation on the back. Its front was the Ace of Hearts just like the name.
"Return."
The playing card vanished, the description to the soul weapon didn't show up, since my system is under modification.
I forced myself to stand up, since the moon was already coming out and the pain in my body had faded a little.
Dyke has no difference from the 21st century Earth meaning there are no floating castles and flying cars.
It is just like watching f and f, since there are indeed advanced weapons that can be used aside from soul weapons.
Like this phone I am holding it has an app called 'Inventory' where it can store physical objects and with just a tap it can bring that object to the real world.
But the best creation the humans ever did was making Azrael Province and Azazel Province- the provinces were the future of humanity is trained.
....honestly in my eyes it is more like meat shields of humanity.
The two provinces are side to side and are located two provinces away from the middle province.
A hundred years ago a program was launched by the Dyke government which dictated that everyone who can use Aether should spend at least a minimum of five years fighting the Ashes at the border, after spending four years of Military training.
Only two Military Academies were formed meaning the space had to be big enough to cover up children from the age of 17 to 19 in the whole Dyke.
So the Whole Azrael Province is covered by the Azrael Military Academy and the same could be said about the Azazel Province which is covered by the Azazel Military Academy.
During the cadets last year they are sent to the front lines, before their graduation meaning that for three quarters of the year, the third years would be the older ones.
Since I don't know anything about where my dorm room and the hospital is, I decided to check the amount of Merits Ace had before doing anything stupid.
Merits is the currency used by both Military Academy students and it is useless in the other provinces.

Two Merits can buy what ever an ordinary person needs for a day's leaving. There are three ways to earn Merits, the first is to please the teaching instructors here, the second is to kill animals that were possessed by Ashes in the beast forest which is the boarder between the two Military Academies.
The third way is by living past a month alive to gain 30 Merits. Killing is allowed here, but destroying any infrastructure is a penalty of 300 Merits.
If you ask the instructors why respect infrastructure than human lives they say this,
'It took blood, sweat and a large amount of time to build everything here, while to make you it only took a few tears of pleasure and time less than an hour.'
They are crazy.
...Well I made them that way.
I turned on the GPS on the phone and it charged 1 Merit an hour, just for showing location.
This World is Expensive.
I started walking towards the train station that was a few yards from the grass field, which will take me to the hospital a couple of miles away.
"I hate this world," I muttered, as the pain from my joints increased.
