Chapter 68 - Brahmara

Opening his eyes, Lycaon sat up from his bed and looked at his surroundings. As was inspecting his surroundings, he was still trying to remember what had happened.

'I was fighting against the humanoid beast, then… then… I released Black Space Distortion… Black Space Distortion! I actually did it! I finally managed to create Black Space Distortion!' Lycaon thought all excited.

"Oh hey! You're awake." A feminine voice spoke,

"Who are you?!" Lycaon asked, quickly getting out of bed and pulling out his sword.

"Don't you remember me? I saved you from the humanoid beast and the other beasts hoping to prey on you." She explained.

Lycaon then felt a throbbing pain in his head as he felt new memories flooding his mind. In a second, he relived the moment of the battle and finally remembered the woman but she wasn't what he thought she was.

She had delicate features and luminous skin that shimmered with an ethereal energy. Her hair was like a cascade of starlight, flowing around her. Behind her was her large, iridescent wings that resembled the unfolding petals of a flower, adorned with tiny stars. But there was one main feature that stuck… She was tiny.

"Why… are you so small?" Lycaon asked, confused.

"What? Haven't you heard of fairies? Ugh, besides that. My name is Brahmara." She revealed. "Do you have any idea how long it has been since I last saw a person? Hundred of years! I think his name was Percy…" She exaggerated.

"My ancestor? That doesn't surprise me."

Surprised, Brahmara floated toward him and started to inspect his body. As she was inspecting him, she started to nod and make weird noises as she was inspecting him.

"You do look like Percy but he was older, stronger, and taller." She said.

Soon the surroundings around Lycaon shifted as he found himself in a kitchen. At first he found it strange that they managed to move to a different location but he figured she had some teleportation magic.

"Are you hungry? Have a fruit." She offered.

Grabbing a fruit, he started to inspect it and noticed it radiated with a strange energy. Activating his mana eyes skill, he noticed it was radiating rainbow mana and not only that but he felt a strange connection to the fruit.

Chomp!

After he bit into the fruit, he felt his mana capacity increase and noticed he could feel the space surrounding their body. It was until now that he knew what the fruit was and was greatly surprised by it.

"Stellarium fruit…" He said in disbelief.

"Why are you surprised? It's a common fruit found in the outside world." Brahmara said.

"How much time do you think has passed in the outside world?"

"A few years? Ten years? Can't be that long since Percy… Wait, what generation of son are you?"

"The hundred and seventh generation…"

After hearing what generation he was, Brahmara stared at him in disbelief and began to shed tears. From the display of emotions, he was able to tell that she was sad and in grief as if they were in a relationship in the past.

'What kind of relationship did you have with my ancestor?' He wanted to ask but suppressed the question.

Suddenly, he found himself outside a colossal tree and felt a strong presence approaching him at a fast pace. A small ethereal butterfly soon appeared and released its presence upon him.

"Stop, Nova." Brahmara said.

The butterfly obediently listened to the command and took flight, bidding Brahamma a farewell before heading back within the forest.

Before Lycaon could thank her though, she suddenly appeared in front of him and threw a quick jab at his face. He immediately activated his stasis-field and thought her attack wouldn't connect but was immediately stunned.

Bang!

He watched as her fist connected with his face, ignoring his stasis field. At contact, he noticed her punch didn't do any damage at all or so he thought.

Bang!

A delayed attack had sent him flying through the air until he was stopped by slamming into a tree. As he stood up, he noticed the strange rainbow mana particles and immediately recognized them.

He finally put two and two together, and realized if the fairy in front of him was around when his ancestor was around along with the book he read, then it could only mean one thing… She is a demi-god.

He immediately bowed down and didn't say a word when she started to approached him. He felt her touch against his head and soon a throbbing pain pulsed through his mind.

"I've planted a portal opener in the back of your head for you to come visit me when I give you permission. I would normally keep my end of the bargain for your ancestor's deal but you're still far too weak for me to teach you."

"How powerful do I need to become in order for you to teach me?"

"At least B-Rank or higher. Unfortunately, you have to go now. It appears that someone still hasn't learned their lesson." Brahmara said, looking into the sky.

Following her gaze, his eyes landed on a crack in the sky and noticed a person had stepped through it. The person then appeared beside Brahmara and seemed to be attempting to pull something out before getting slapped away.

"Percy's descendant, don't die on me until I fulfill my side of the bargain."

As she finished her last words, she snapped her fingers and Lycaon suddenly found himself back in the tropical forest, surrounded by Iceback Gorillas. But just before he could engage in combat, a person appeared and quickly dispatched the gorillas.

"Where the hell were you?" Sebastian asked.

"Great. The least face I wanted to see today." Lycaon said.

"Do you have any idea of how long you were gone?"

"A few hours? A day?"

"An entire week!" Sebastian revealed.

"A week?! I could've sworn it didn't feel that long… Then again, I did end up falling asleep."

Slap!

"Everyone was worried for you. Even if they hate your guts, you're still part of the group. Aside from that, I finished gathering all the crystals and gathered more just for you."

An entire bag full of crystals suddenly dropped on the ground that were ranging from Mid E-Rank to D-Rank. Lycaon's mouth opened in shock as if he had to guess the amount of crystals, it was at least over fifty.

As if sensing something was off, he pulled out his sword and quickly swung through the air. The next moment, an arrow of ice could be seen colliding with his sword.

Clank!

Before he could try to fight back, he noticed it was his friends that had attacked him. Without warning, one of them tackled him to the ground and locked in a chokehold before letting him go.

"You dumb*ss! You made us worried!" A girl shouted at him.

"Sorry! Didn't realize you guys missed me that mu-"

Stab!

"Do think too highly of yourself. Baron sent us to check up on you and retrieve you." A boy by the name of Evergreen said.

Evergreen Ullr, one of the survivors of the destroyed village that everyone resided from aside from Lycaon. He possesses a rugged charm, with a weather-beaten face. His eyes, a piercing shade of frosty blue. His hair, a dark shade of brown with streaks of silver.

"Well, I gathered all the crystals as you can see here." Lycaon said, pointing at the bag of crystals.

Evergreen, surprised, approached the bag of crystals and pulled out multiple different types of crystals for inspection. Upon closer inspection, he was greatly surprised to see the variety of crystals, especially the ice crystals.

"Erm, excuse my transgression but I didn't think you would gather this much." Evergreen said before walking away.

He then looked at Sebastian and shrugged before grabbing the bag, and limbing away in the direction of their camp.

One Week Later…

"Baron! I've got all the crystals!" Lycaon shouted, arriving at the camp's forgery.

Clack!

After doing some finishing touches to his creation, Baron set his hammer aside and lifted up his mask. He then looked toward Lycaon and looked back at the crystals before shaking his head.

He could already assume that Sebastian had helped obtain mostly all the crystals or perhaps all of them but he didn't really have a say in things so he left it be. It didn't take long for news to spread about the crystals either as many of them had already said their thanks to him.

Obviously some of them had their suspicions but they were easily swayed as they knew about the relationship between Antares and Lycaon. Anyone would be angered if they found they were gonna be assassinated.

With the bag of crystals, Baron and Carlos knew the days ahead of them would be troublesome as the amount of orders numbered in the twenty. Unfortunately, not all of the orders would be completed with the unexpected and unforeseeable events in the future.

"Antares! Wait up!" Baron shouted.

Stopping his tracks, Sebastian turned around and saw an arm go around his neck before being dragged somewhere discreet.

"I've received some important information about the Northern Mountaintops. Supposedly while Lexi was busy hunting, she felt the mountain move as if they were alive. Not only that but she felt an immense mana signature deep within the mountaintops.

I figured this information would be best for you since you are stronger than any of us. I'd advise you to go and check it out for me since I'd rather find out the problem than face it unexpectedly." Baron explained.

"Understandable. Whelp, I suppose I'll be off then." Sebastian replied, disappearing from his sight.

'Sebastian, I hope you'll reveal your identity some time in the future, otherwise I'm afraid everyone will hate you the longer you keep it secret.' Baron thought, staring at the rest of the group of friends around a campfire.

While on the move toward the Northern Mountaintops, Sebastian noticed the area near the mountaintops in general was barren as if they had been all killed by something. He then started to wonder what exactly would scare off such a large horde of beasts and began to speculate the power of such being.

After a few hours of getting closer and constantly flash-stepping he arrived at the foot of the Northern Mountaintops. He did indeed feel a powerful presence within the mountaintops as if the being responsible was not even trying to hide.

'What kind of monster is this?' Sebastian thought, staring at the visible mana in the sky.

From the looks of it, the mana seemed to be entering the early stage of S-Rank and something of that caliber should have already been killed or at least found a long time ago.

As he was about to climb up the mountain, he sensed something coming his way and quickly dodged out the way. Soon after he had dodged, a razor-sharp powerful attack had cut the mountains in half as a single line of energy could be seen.

'Either it knew where I was or that was just a coincidence.'

Suddenly, a strong gust of chilling winds passed Sebastian and soon after a giant ice attack had blown over the mountaintops and froze the air itself. Upon seeing the ice attack, he already knew the beast that was capable of that and immediately started to move further away.

It was clear that whatever was causing a ruckus within the Northern Mountaintops was dangerous as the King itself had interfered and created an attack.

'Whelp, there's no way in hell I'll ever go back into the Northern Mountaintops. Seriously, who in their right mind would go to such a dangerous place after seeing that?' Sebastian thought to himself and remembered he was that type of person but at least he knew his own limits.

"What the hell kind of monster are you?!" Leo shouted in disbelief and horror.

Although he had sensed SS-Rank beasts and below, he didn't think he would run into something that was of Mythical Rankings. Obviously, he couldn't sense the proper rank as nobody knew anything in existence at a higher rank.

"Leave, human~!" The beast bellowed in anger of the great disturbance in its domain.

As if fear had entered Leo's body, he had listened to the beast and ran away. At first he had thought he was capable of taking the beast down but after sensing its somewhat true rank, he wished he hadn't thought of such things.
