Chapter 68 - Sacred Grimoire?

Holding the Silver Grimoire that had dimmed slightly, Eddie felt an irresistible call from within. Weighing the possibilities, he decided not to wait for a hypothetical Golden or Diamond Grimoire. The Silver Grimoire might level up with frequent use, reaching even higher echelons.

Resolving to act, Eddie lightly placed his hand on the Grimoire. As information flooded his mind, he confidently affirmed the contract. Golden light seeped through his fingers, intensifying around the Grimoire, enveloping even the unconscious Sea, Hessian, and the Li brothers in a warm, golden glow.

A magnificent beam shot from the Grimoire, soaring sky-high, its peak hidden from sight. During his awe, Eddie noticed the Grimoire's grade dropping, regressing from Silver to an initial Bronze level. It dawned on him that any Grimoire, upon contracting, reverts to its bronze beginnings.

Eddie's heart raced as his hand began to bleed, merging with the Grimoire. His spiritual energy was draining at a terrifying rate, and though he tried to pull away, his hand seemed bound by an invisible force.

Suddenly, a rainbow of colors burst forth, enveloping his arm in a dazzling display. A heavenly aroma filled the air, accompanied by a melodious chirp. Two golden phoenixes appeared to dance around his arm, eventually merging into the Grimoire. Overwhelmed, Eddie lost consciousness and collapsed.

Meanwhile, in the Blood Moon Palace of the Demon Abyss, Barlut, one of the three Great Demon Kings, was engrossed in studying the 'Divine Language Runes.' His efforts were fruitless, causing great frustration.

Suddenly, Duran, his normally composed demon marshal, barged in, panic-stricken. "King Barlut, the sealing pillar has shattered! The unnamed sacred beast we captured from the seventh layer of Heaven Tower is awake. Its power has broken the seal!"

Barlut, already burdened with the enigmatic runes, felt his headache intensify. The sacred beast, whose power no one could harness, lay dormant for three centuries. Its awakening posed a dilemma – too dangerous to keep, yet too precious to release.

Eddie's eyes widened in astonishment as he awoke to find a radiant, rainbow-enshrouded Grimoire floating before him. It shimmered like a diamond, its crystal-clear quality akin to flawless glass, exuding an aura of perfection.

"A Sacred Grimoire?" Eddie gasped, his mind reeling. He knew of Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Grimoires, but never had he heard of a Sacred Grimoire. The highest he had ever seen was Phoebe's Diamond Grimoire.

His newly contracted Grimoire had transformed from a mid-tier Silver to an initial Bronze and now, inexplicably, to an initial-tier Sacred Grimoire.

What exactly was a Sacred Grimoire? Images flickered in his mind of the massive Grimoire Phoebe had summoned before her slumber - it bore a resemblance to his, albeit much larger.

Could it be that the pinnacle masters of this world wielded not ordinary Grimoires but Sacred ones?

Examining his Grimoire, Eddie noted its extraordinary size - a meter long and half a meter wide, with numerous pages. Every inch was adorned with intricate and mystical runes, exuding an otherworldly beauty.

The intricate runes on the Grimoire captivated Eddie with their complexity and beauty. Pinching himself to ensure he wasn't dreaming, his heart raced uncontrollably at the realization that this was all real.

Phoebe gracefully floated out from Eddie's body, holding her Diamond Grimoire with a beaming smile before merging into the Sacred Grimoire.

Eddie watched in awe, realizing Phoebe had been picky about her residence – the Bronze Grimoire was too low-tier for her, but she eagerly moved into the Sacred Grimoire as soon as it appeared.

Eddie was eager to explore the contents of his Sacred Grimoire, hoping to discover new talents and a Life Guardian Beast.

However, his attempts to open it were thwarted – his innate level and spiritual energy were insufficient. Frustrated, he longed to peek inside, yet the Grimoire remained sealed.

To his surprise, the little Lamia appeared, wrapping her six arms around his leg and affectionately nuzzling him. She seemed pleased with this new home, but Eddie was burning with curiosity about the Grimoire's contents.

"Little treasure, can you tell me what's inside? What are my new talents and Life Guardian Beast?" Eddie asked urgently, his eagerness palpable.
