It was evening, and Glottis was already healed up.
'I should go tonight to Mike's father's grave,' he decided, willing to do anything for extra Fate Points. 'But what if he is there? I can't defeat him if he decides to visit his father's grave tonight.'
Glottis was rash and impulsive, but he was not a complete idiot. He knew that Mike had been in the hospital ever since the incident before the funeral, which meant the boy still had no chance of visiting his old man's grave. It was very probable that he would pay it a visit today, kneel, and ask for his father's forgiveness for not appearing in the burial ceremony.
"Let's get some equipment first," he thought to himself when he recalled a certain deal. He opened his phone and searched for the contact he needed.
"Shumar?"
"Young Master Glottis, it's a pleasure to get a phone call from you. May I help you in some way?"
Glottis called none other than Shumar, one of the two businessmen to introduce the special boots they invented that allowed people to walk in the air.
"Yes, you may. I want seven pairs of your boots, and I'm coming to take them in half an hour." He was already dressed up and ready to go. Once he came up with a plan, he was itching to execute it.
"Young Master Glottis, I don't think this is a good idea. We did not commit to handing over samples in the agreement we signed with Leo," Shumar answered hesitantly, not knowing how to get out of the situation. He was worried it'd be used for competition.
"I see, since you don't want to help me out, I will let this go. However, the Sonora family does not do business with insincere people," Glottis answered in a serious tone, letting the other side understand what might happen.
"Wait, wait, Young Master, may I ask what you need those boots for?" Shumar hurriedly kept him on the line. Damaging his relationship with this fat whale was one of the worst things that could happen.
"You may not."
"Young Master, your family has already paid us the fifty million…" Shumar said, implying that the Sonora family would take a huge loss if they broke ties with them.
"Right, and my family can spend another fifty million to take down a business, and we still wouldn't notice we lost the money."
In his imagination, Shumar could see the young man shrug, looking down on the amount of money Shumar and his partner worked hard to finally gather. 'It's better to drink wine willingly than to be forced to gulp poison later,' he thought.
"Young Master, I was just nervous that the product's secrets would be found out by the competitors before we released it to the market. Besides, it's still under development – it's unsteady and unsafe, and it might even lead to deadly accidents. Another weakness is that currently, you can stay in the air only for 10 minutes before you must land and let them charge themselves. Do you still want them?"
"I do."
"Alright. You can pick them up at Narn Avenue, 29. They will be ready within half an hour."
"Great, thank you. You have acquired a friend today," Glottis reassured the man with an empty promise.
"Befriending Young Master Glottis is worth more than my company."
Glottis could almost feel a wet tongue on his ass, making him shiver for a moment. "Yeah, okay, see you around," he hung up the phone without waiting for an answer.
He went to his Lumina, finding it where Miss Rosemary left it. He drove the car to the driveway and used his GPS for instructions to find the location Shumar gave him. On the way, he called Donny and set it to speaker.
"Brother Glottis, are you coming to the club tonight? Your favorite is dancing today on the main stage, I can still arrange a VIP room for you."
"Donny, what do you mean by "still"? Are you saying you can't do it if I come at the last moment?"
"It's not what I meant, why are you distorting my words?" Donny laughed it off. Unlike others who would feel pressured by the hostility of a Sonora, the thug leader didn't. The two were friends and Glottis never truly threatened him.
"Whatever, did you say it's Candy Lust tonight?" Glottis then remembered the news.
"It is her tonight, don't you always say her body looks like a manufactured doll?"
"I do," he admitted, already considering putting aside his plans for tonight. After all, the grave would still be there tomorrow. "Ah, forget it, I have plans for tonight, and Candy never lets me bang her no matter how much tip I leave. I want you to come with me, and bring five of your cultivators with you."
"What? But you never miss Candy's shows!" Donny's surprised voice came from the phone, "Is it about that kid Mike Teuto again? Because there's no way I'm going to fight a second-stage cultivator. Just give the job to one of your family's cultivators, they should be able to take care of him easily."
After a long friendship, Donny knew his friend's tendency to hold grudges. However, he also knew his friend's tendency to take the easy way out and use his family to solve problems.
"I can't, something about him having a master and a deal that I can take him down with my own connections, power, and money, but not with my family's." Glottis frowned just by thinking about the weird deal. He had no idea who was powerful enough to force his family to take a step back.
"Are you sure that master won't kill us then?" Donny remained unconvinced. Unlike Glottis, his background was not that amazing, even if it was quite decent. The point is, there were still some people who would dare kill him.
"I am. Don't be a pussy, man, I have a plan to beat the crap out of him for sure this time. You just need to come with five of your cultivator thugs."
"I don't have thugs, you mean my bodyguards and employees."
"Right, those guys."
