The Set Up
Amelia's POV
If I had the power to disappear, I would. The eyes that pierced at me with disdain, Gerald's heavy gaze and step towards me, and the fingers that pointed at me in rejection, were all overwhelming, I couldn't bear them all.
As I stood there, hopeless and defenseless, I struggled to hold back the tears that had crowded my eyes. I never wanted to appear weak, not before the glaring eyes that stood before me. Not before Lina, I could feel her mockery gaze fall on me.
Gerald raised his hand forcefully, his veins bulge out, his face frowned, his eyes blazing. I felt his raised hand drawing closer to my neck, and I hitched.
My eyes went dead, my body shivered and my fist clenched. I never wanted to behold my doom. Just then, a voice echoed from the entrance door, its loud sound tingling my ear and causing me to jerk in fear.
