A Broken Moment
My gaze was fixed on Amelia's form, my eyes tracing her path as I watched her approach, her steps tentative, fearful as if each footfall would bring her closer to her demise.
Amelia's body seemed to fold in on itself, her frame tense, and rigid, as she approached towards me, her eyes fixed on the ground, her gaze unable to meet Gerald's.
She bowed, her body a supplication, a gesture of submission, her hands trembling, her voice a hoarse, broken whisper.
"You sent for me, my Alpha," she said, her words echoing through the quiet forest, the echo of her fear lingering in the air like a dark foreboding presence.
My hand was gentle, my touch a featherlight caress, as I lifted Amelia's chin, my eyes searching for her own, my gaze lingering around her form.
"I don't bite," I said, my voice a soft, reassuring murmur, as her eyes flickered, her gaze flickering between my own, her face a mask of fear.
