After talking with Emily, Maya felt a little better. Before she went back to her own office, she called Old Bat.
"Please help me pick Jason up. I'll come back late; we are having a company dinner."
On the other end of the call, Old Bat nodded. "That's alright. Try not to drink too much; you know your alcohol tolerance level is zero. Also, if you'll drink, send me your live location so I'll come pick you up."
Maya smiled. "I'll do just that. Thank you, bye." She dropped her phone and continued with her work.
After work hours, everyone in the CL company got ready for the announced dinner party. Maya packed her bag, following Emily and others. When they reached outside the company, everyone entered the cars of those they were close with, leaving behind the new workers.
"We should take a cab, maybe," Gabriel suggested as there was no staff they could go with.
