Raven moved his head to the side, then chuckled. "Bird brain, what makes you think so?"
Lily pressed her lips. "I thought you decided to abandon me because I didn't want to accept your....." Her voice was now low, almost a whisper.
"Little girl, that's not love if I take it back just because you won't accept my feelings," he said, rubbing Lily's hair gently.
Lily fumbled with her hands. "I'm not a little girl, I'm going to be twenty-four soon," she retorted, but with a small voice.
Raven widened his eyes as if surprised. "That's a big age. I'm sorry, grandma," he teased her.
"I'm not old either," she blurted, trying to stay still since she was sitting on his lap.
Raven hummed thoughtfully. "You confuse me; one minute you're not little, the next you're not old," he said to her. As they were talking, the door opened, and Lucy walked in carrying a tray that had a glass of warm milk on it.
