Feeling a pang, Alan took a deep breath. Before he could move, Williams asked, "Al, are you thinking what I am thinking?" Alan nodded in agreement.
"Well then, if I get burn marks, can you at least make my face look pretty again?" Dave surprised Alan with his request.
As Alan looked around, he found all the boys sharing the same determined look as Williams. Sighing, Alan replied, "I can promise to heal everyone's faces, but I can't guarantee you got burnt the other parts." He grinned mischievously, and the others mirrored his smile.
"Alright then, let's use the water to wet our bodies. Get some wet cloths, cover your faces, head, and hands first." Chris instructed.
"What...?" Before George could inquire, the six of them sprinted toward people attempting to douse the fire. Grabbing buckets, they started pouring water on themselves, then covered their faces with wet cloths.
"Clear the area... now!" Williams roared, prompting those nearby to step back, creating a temporary zone to deposit the goods.
"Williams, NO!" George and Andrew shouted in fear, but Williams met his father and John's gaze with determination. "Get more people and keep the water handy. Pour water on whatever item that will be kept here," he directed, pointing to the spot where they stood.
"Now!" Alan shouted. Williams, covering his face, channeled his Mana and sprinted towards the godown, reaching it in a flash.
Boom... the thick metal door was forcefully punched aside. Shocking everyone else present there.
Alan nodded to the others and seemingly vanished from his spot. The rest followed suit, disappearing from everyone's sight. The onlookers were left in shock.
James and John snapped back to reality, organizing guards and arranging water.
"How can these kids be so fast and daring. Aren't they afraid of getting themselves burned?" George asked to himself in a low voice which Andrew heard and agreed readily.
Within a minute, figures emerged from the godown, hauling wooden pallets, racks, and boxes. As they reached the cleared spot, guards and workers sprayed water both onto the goods and on the boys before the group ran back into the inferno again. They completed four trips before calling off their mission.
All six of them lay on the ground, panting. John and James sighed in relief to see all of them safe.
George, Helen, Andrew, and Elena rushed towards them. Seeing the boys on the ground, panic set in, and Elena even started crying. "Don't worry, dear, they are all safe. Just exhausted and catching their breath now," John reassured, feeling palpable relief from Elena. Helen also noded in agreement after noticing the boys with experienced healers eyes.
"Thank the heavens, stupid kids! Why did you all do such a foolish thing? What would we have done if something had happened to you all? How could we have faced your parents and families?" Elena berated them.
"Lady Elena, don't worry about me. No one would have blamed you for my actions," Chris said with a tired smile, still closing his eyes laying on the ground, surprising her momentarily.
"My parents are adventurers, so no worries on my part," Bob added. "Same here," Ben chimed in.
"Now that you mention it, I never thought about that," lady Elena. Dave admitted, surprising everyone, including the adults. All eyes turned to him.
"What...?!" He looked around puzzled. "As long as Al, is there, I never thought something could happen to me." Before everyone could get impressed by his confidence towards Alan, he spoke again, "Well, nothing would happen to my face, at least. I don't know about other parts of my body." Dave concluded. Everyone were dumbfounded by the casual approach by him towardshis own life.
"Ouch..." suddenly, Dave shouted. Even before Elena could express concern. "Al, I think my bottom got burnt. Forget about my face. Heal my bottom, man." Dave started panicking.
Laughter echoed in the surroundings. The ones who were standing afar might have thought these people lost their minds due to the heavy loses.
All six of them rode in the carriages towards their home. George and Andrew stayed back as Duke's men arrived to provide aid. They accepted the reality that everything except what the boys had saved were lost.
Upon reaching home, Helen thoroughly checked the boys and found numerous burn marks on all of them, except Alan, who had alredy healed himself. As Dave had mentioned, he was even burnt on his backside, prompting another round of laughter at his condition.
"Al, tell me you can heal my bottom without touching it, right?" Dave was visibly embarrassed now.
Alan smacked his head and channeled his mana with a hand on his chest. In a few minutes, a cool sensation spread across his body and his skin became flawless.
Dave stood up, felt his bottom for any pain or discomfort, and smiled gleefully. "Thank goodness, it's feeling like as that of a new born babe's ."
"What feels like a new born babe's?" Lilly entered the room with Rose at that precise moment asked curiously, bringing another round of laughter to everyone present at Dave's expression.
Alan healed everyone within minutes. As they were minor burn marks he was not required to expend too much of his Mana. Besides he had worked hard to increase his mana reserve these 6 months with great results too.
