Helen delved into numerous medical books in an attempt to find a solution to Alan's condition but came up empty-handed. Eventually, she decided to utilize the energy stone to assess his internal condition.
That evening, after their meal, Helen began channeling the energy stored in the stone, with everyone present eager to learn more about Alan's condition.
After 20 minutes, Helen opened her eyes with a puzzled expression. She then instructed a maid to bring a bowl of hot water along with some cotton and cloth strips. Turning to Williams, who was observing with keen interest, she smiled and said, "Why don't you go out and play, dear? It's still early to go to bed." Williams smiled broadly, thanked her, and hurried out of the room before his parents could intervene.
Addressing the others, Helen explained, "I need to extract some blood from Alan, and I don't want Williams to witness the process."
Jane smiled, understanding Helen's concern. "Thank you for the thoughtful gesture, Aunt Helen." She looked at the others and added, "Aunt Helen, to be honest, Williams is learning basic field medicine and first aid from our family healer. He has even started treating minor injuries when someone gets hurt on our estate."
"It's commendable that he's interested in learning about healing, but the situation here is different," Helen said, taking a deep breath. "I believe Alan is poisoned."
The revelation left everyone in shock.
"That wasn't my only concern. It felt like there was something else happening inside his body... It feels like there are multiple kinds of poisons inside him,"
"And something else too..." she added, whispering to herself and sighing.
A heavy silence filled the room. When the maid entered, Helen asked everyone to keep their distance from the bed, took out a small but sharp blade, made a small cut on Alan's wrist, and collected the blood in a small glass vial.
Moving to the study table, she retrieved vials containing small amounts of various colored liquids. "Keep your distance and be careful, everyone. These are venoms from various snakes that we collected during our journey." Everyone nodded.
Helen then took out empty glass vials and added a few drops of Alan's blood to each one. Afterward, she began placing a single drop of venom from different vials into each vial containing Alan's blood one by one.
Initially, she added a drop of translucent-looking venom, patiently waiting for over 10 minutes, yet there was no reaction. Undeterred, she introduced a second type of venom into another vial, but once again, there was no observable change. Continuing the process with six different venom types, she checked each time, but to no avail. Helen looked relaxed, and there was even a hint of excitement.
With only two types of venom remaining to be tested, Helen pondered whether her theory could be confirmed or if Alan was poisoned by something else entirely.
When she added a drop of greenish-looking venom, a subtle change occurred in the vial. It seemed as though the two substances were in conflict, and after a few minutes, the venom began to dissolve.
Feeling relieved, Helen nodded and proceeded to the last vial of venom. It had a pale brownish color, and upon contact with the blood, it caused the blood to congeal. To her surprise, after 15 minutes, the blood started returning to normal.
Helen rose with excitement, sealing the glass vials securely and placing the venom carefully into her bag. The remaining vials were set aside for later disposal.
After tidying up and washing her hands, Helen approached Alan's bed. Inspecting the cut she had made, she found that the bleeding had ceased. Covering it with cloth strips, she turned to the others with a comforting smile.
"He's going to be fine; no need to worry," she assured. Everyone visibly relaxed and sighed wit relief.
Concerned, John inquired, "What's the matter, Helen?"
Shaking her head in astonishment, she explained, "Remember the venom we collected while traveling through the mountain region?" John nodded.
"I believe he unintentionally ingested tiny doses of various poisons without his knowledge or intent. And now his bod had became immune to almost all snake poison. "
This revelation shocked everyone. "How did he get poisoned? And that too by all types of venom?" Elizabeth wondered, looking horrified.
Helen and John exchanged glances, and Helen nodded, urging John to elaborate.
John Sighed, asked the maids to leave the room. Locked the door and looked at Helen again with a hesitant expression.
"Go ahead John. We are all family here, no need to worry". Helen assured him of her intent to let everyone know about Alan's abilities.
John noded his head resolutely and looked towards his family members with a serious expression.
