Alan took bath and cleaned his weapons in the river before proceedings towards his home. He was carrying the wild boar as he was planning to skin it and use it for the next days meal. Infact it was sufficient for more than 20 grown men.
As he started walking he felt a bit of panic seeing unknow foot marks and hoof prints heading towards his hut. He was worried for his grandmother.
He dropped the boar's carcass and dashed towards his home. In his panic he even forgot to pick up his weapons. When he came near to the hut he saw many people there. He saw his grandmother talking and laughing with an old but energetic, sturdy and powerful looking man.
Suddenly he remembered about his great uncle John. He felt relieved and relaxed his tensed muscles. He started walking towards his hut in a normal pace again.
Everyone started noticing Alan's arrival. Helen looked at him with a wide smile and exclaimed, "My dear, you are back!!! Then she noticed his shoulder which was tied with a piece of cloth with bloodstains on it. Her expression took a drastic turn and exclaimed!! "What happed? How did you get injured?"
John who was standing opposite Helen turned his head and also noticed Alan in Astonishment.
"He had grown up so much. He looks sturdy and he is even taller than most kids of his age. Even taller than my grandson!!" John mused.
He saw the injury on Alan's should too and thought he might have gotten it from a tree fall or something.
Alan came near his grandmother. Smiled and hugged her. Don't worry grandma, its a small wound nothing to worry about.
Then he turned to John and bowed his head. "You must be great uncle John. It's nice to meet you at last." Alan greeted him.
John smiled. "Yes I am John, please call me uncle John. I am not so old afterall." He said to Alan with a sense of humor.
Helen laughed out loud after hearing this.
But she again asked Alan, "What happened child. Are you in pain?"
"No grandma. I had already applied the medicine.its already started to heal. Besides it was just a scratch from a wild boar's tusk."
John who was standing next to Helen suddenly yelled in surprise. "What!!!? What did you just said??!!!".
Alan looked towards John taken aback.
"Uhhh... It was just a small injury uncle John, nothing to worry about."
John shook his head asking again, "I mean how did you get injured?"
Alan was confused and said "From a Wild boar" uncle John.
John turned his head towards Helen. She smiled sheepishly. " Come John, Alan let's talk inside."
"Wait grandma, I forgot my weapons and I had dropped the wild boar's carcass near the river. Let me go fetch it. I will be back in a few minutes."
"No need for that. Let my men collect it." John called 2 of his men and instructed them to get the dead wild boar's body and weapons.
After that he went inside the hut with Helen and Alan.
Once inside, Helen began asking John about his family members. "How is Elizabeth? How are your son and daughter and their family?
"Thanks to you, Elizabeth is in great health. She is eagerly waiting to meet you at home."
"My son is an A class Adventurer like me and my daughter is also in Winden city. Her husband is a merchant. He was one of my father in-law's friends son. He is a good and caring man. Both my son and daughter married early."
My son is blessed with a rascal and he is almost 10 now. My daughter is blessed with a beautiful daughter. She is 8 now. My heart is at peace seeing both my son's and daughter's family living happily." John told smiling.
Helen patted his shoulder and said. "Good to know things are going well with you guys. I hope We also can live peacefully there."
"Don't worry Helen. Everything had been taken care of. My wife personally took care of all the thing. You can directly start living there. No need to buy anything. Not even a spoon." John said proudly.
Helen shook her head smiling. " That Elizabeth!! After all these years she had not even changed a bit it seems."
John had a fond look in his eyes. When he heard of Elizabeth's nature. "That is true. I am blessed to have such a caring person."
Then they had some small talk sitting on the floor mat.
