Chapter 3 - Ch. 3 Yumemi Okazaki

Saitama always acted in a swift and decisive manner when deciding what to do.

Deciding to go to A-City to enforce justice, he left after putting down his bowl and chopsticks.

Although Saitama had left, the meal still needed to be finished.

"All the meat is indeed gone." Looking around, Reinhard sighed.

Now there were only some vegetables left in the pot.

However, that wasn't a big problem.

Preparations had already been made on both sides.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

The door was knocked.

This was the suburban residential area of Z-City, rumored to have a monster lair. Besides Reinhard, the only resident here who moved in earlier than Reinhard was Saitama.

Therefore, there were rarely any visitors, especially directly coming to Reinhard's house.

After suppressing the fire, Reinhard got up to open the door.

"Too.. slow!"

As soon as the door opened, the visitor complained to Reinhard without any courtesy.

It was a red-haired girl of almost the same age as Reinhard's current physiological age.

The first impression she gave was a vivid red like amaryllis flowers.

Red hair, red eyes, and even the clothes she wore were in shades of red.

She had long red hair braided into a large twist behind her back.

Wearing a white shirt as the base, she had a red vest skirt on top. When draped with a black curtain-like cloak behind her, she also put on a red shawl.

In her hands, she carried items stacked in layers of wooden lunch boxes, all neatly wrapped in cloth.

"I think I was fast enough."

"From the time I knocked to you opening the door, it took a total of 5.98 seconds. If you care about me visiting as an honored guest, then open the door within 0.02 seconds! Idiot!"

After scolding without reason, the girl walked in without reservation.

"What's this? It has already started." Glancing at the living room, the girl put the lunch boxes aside on the dining table.

Despite behaving quite capriciously, Reinhard showed no signs of impatience. Instead, he fetched bowls and chopsticks from the kitchen and placed them in front of her.

"Dr. Okazaki, did you bring everything?"

"Of course, I wouldn't forget such a small matter." Saying so, the girl unwrapped the cloth, "I brought beef, but I'm not sure which ones you'd like. Take a look and see if these are okay."

"All of these are fatty beef, that's good."

Sukiyaki, the Japanese beef hot soup, naturally suited the tender parts for boiling. Although any part except beef brisket could be made into fatty beef, Dr. Okazaki brought only premium cuts.

Basically, it included eye meat, upper brain, sirloin, and belly meat.

"That's good."

"By the way, Dr. Okazaki, how much do I owe you for all of this?"

"I don't need money." Dr. Okazaki answered nonchalantly, "If you really want to compensate me, just provide me with some of your blood regularly."

The ultimate goal is still Dark Matter, right?

After all, the blood cells in Reinhard's blood are essentially Dark Matter.

Directly extracting Dark Matter would gradually turn it into ordinary matter due to prolonged exposure to the external environment. Extracting it along with the plasma can keep it fresh.

Reinhard didn't feel any loss about it, he just nodded.

Watching Reinhard start to cook the meat, Dr. Okazaki tapped the table. "Oh, and stop calling me Dr. Okazaki all the time. Just call me Yumemi."

Yumemi Okazaki.

That was the full name of the red-haired girl in front of him.

A genius who obtained a professorship at the young age of eighteen, her mastery of scientific technology was confident enough to rival any researcher, including the genius scientist Dr. Genus. It was with her assistance that Reinhard could understand the basic workings of his superpowers.

"Huh, is it okay to be this familiar?"

"I don't mind."

"Alright then."

Anyway, it wasn't a big deal.

Continuing to call Yumemi Okazaki 'Dr. Okazaki' was just a sign of respect. Since she was willing to be called by her name, then so be it. Acting timid and hesitant would only make things uncomfortable.

The most important thing now was to eat meat. Yumemi tapped the TV with her chopsticks. The snowy signal suddenly returned to normal. Currently, it seemed to be an aerial view taken by a helicopter, far from the center of the disaster.

After watching for a while, Yumemi said, "Another powerful monster has appeared? What a world full of disasters."

"Considering the destructive power, it might be a 'Dragon,' right?"

This level is classified by a private organization called the 'Hero Association' based on the threat level of disasters. It ranges from low to high: Wolf, Tiger, Demon, Dragon, and God. A Dragon-level disaster is one that could lead to the destruction of several towns.

This monster could release light bullets for destruction.

With tremendous power, one shot could destroy several streets. If left unchecked, A-City might be leveled in no time, right?

However, with the invincible Saitama heading there, it should be resolved quickly.

"Heh, a Dragon-level monster? I'm a bit interested."

"Better not mess around." Reinhard glanced at the eager Yumemi, "Although I know you're powerful, after all, it's a monster. Us ordinary folks shouldn't get involved."

"Do you not feel embarrassed saying that? Over 40% of all monsters within a radius of more than ten kilometers from your home were eliminated by you, including Demon-level ones." Yumemi raised an eyebrow.

"I did it in self-defense." Reinhard asserted confidently, "The Hero Association guys are just enjoying donations from society and not doing their job. There are hardly any resident heroes in this area, it's quite dangerous."

"Let's not talk about that. Reinhard, do you have any thoughts about registering as a professional hero?"

Just now, they kept mentioning an organization called the Hero Association.

It was established three years ago by the millionaire Agoni as a gesture of gratitude for saving his grandson. Since then, it has been operating on funds raised from the public.

To combat various disasters constantly occurring on this supercontinent, they gathered talented individuals from society, forming the so-called professional heroes.

Although this world didn't have the concept of countries, there were official institutions that wielded public power, such as governments, military, and police. Because the society hadn't developed to the point of not needing these yet, but the official institutions, whether in terms of crisis management, response capabilities, or handling abilities, were not impressive.

Many talented individuals in society also chose not to join official institutions to serve. Therefore, since the birth of the Hero Association and professional heroes, they gained more support and trust from the public than the official ones. Despite being a private organization, after gaining such advantages, there seemed to be an intention to surpass the control of public authorities.

Recalling his knowledge of the Hero Association, Reinhard eventually shook his head, "I don't have thoughts about that for now."

"Oh."

"By the way, why ask me such a question?"

"Just seeing you having nothing to do all day, suggesting you find some fun." Yumemi replied, "Regular jobs are boring, and since you don't lack money, there's not much meaning in doing them. But the hero profession seems quite exciting, it's suitable for passing the time."

Upon careful consideration, Yumemi's words made sense.

Continuing, Yumemi said, "Actually, I feel like you're quite similar to me. Although you've mentioned that you should have some interpersonal relationships in this world, fundamentally, you're an 'outsider,' right?"

Reinhard paused for a moment, looking up, "So, are you too?"

"Yeah." Yumemi nodded, "I'm not from this world."

"A traveler then?"

"Traveler? What a fresh term. Do you call people who visit another world from one world 'travelers'?"

"Yeah, that's right. It seems to have various categories like soul transmigration, rebirth, and such. I guess I'm somewhat special, transmigrating to another version of myself in a parallel world."

"I see." Yumemi nodded, "But how do you confirm that you're transmigrated and not the original you receiving memories from another version of yourself, presuming you're transmigrated?"

"It should be the ability." Reinhard raised his hand, and mist-like Dark Matter emerged, "I can confirm that the me in this world doesn't have this ability."

"Is that so?" After Yumemi finished the soup in her bowl, she put it down with a sense of grandeur, took a deep breath, and then said, "As someone called a traveler, with this kind of ability, you'll probably be able to master the skill of world movement sooner or later, if you can't, I can give you some research reports for reference. But in that case, you have to learn to entertain yourself. If you don't have any clear goals, then try the unique things in various worlds."

Yumemi's words plunged Reinhard into thought.

"I'm full, I'm full." Patting her stomach, Yumemi stood up, "Well then, I'll go back first. If you miss me or want to give me some 'Dark Matter' for research, come find me."

"Sure, take care."

Yumemi waved casually.
