Chapter Three Hundred-Ninety-Two – The Date II
Stefan and Laurel reached a bridge and Laurel walked past it without any trouble, but Stefan paused. Why did Baxter not specify how high the bridge was from the river?
"Really?" Kai came to the surface. "Your height issues are going to show now, Alpha Stefan!"
Stefan closed his eyes as he cut the connection with his wolf again. Didn't that mangy thing promise not to bother him?
"Are you okay?" Laurel asked half way across the bridge.
Stefan nodded quickly to hide his hesitations. He needed to do this without looking down. This was only a childhood trauma turned fear. "Go ahead. I'd meet you there."
Laurel hummed and turned to Marino who whispered something to her ears. Her eyes widened.
Stefan once told him how he fell into a river as a kid? That was such a dark tale to tell a kid. Was Stefan using her Marino as his therapist?
