Chapter Three Hundred-Twenty-Three – Something's Wrong
Darren expected the visitor to return to Lunaria immediately but instead Zeno asked for a room and fell asleep in it. Darren couldn't understand this behavior.
He asked Alice to keep watch over him but Alice said something about him didn't feel right and blatantly disobeyed without giving any other reason.
He really wanted to toss her back to Damancas. A lycan had even crossed the border without Finn reporting so he wanted to believe Zeno didn't feel like a threat.
"If something's wrong with him, shouldn't she say it early to save us—" his voice trailed off when he found a crow, staring at him, intently from outside the window.
He blinked, narrowing his eyes at the creature. It's eyes were bright red and it seemed to be watching him. He moved to another room with a window.
