Laurel stared at the cup and the cup seemed to be staring back at her. Was she really supposed to drink this?

Could it be a test actually? Maybe saying 'no' wouldn't be bad, but then she was ordered to and she couldn't disobey a direct order. So she should just let herself die?
She looked up at the servant girl as she reached for the glass. The girl's eyes didn't look distant and even when she took the glass, the girl's eyes were still the same.
If the girl was actually giving her something that could kill her, she should have a distant expression on her face like someone administering death to an innocent person.
So Laurel guessed either it's really okay to drink or the girl didn't know if it's drugged. The Princess turned to Nero.
