Chapter Two Hundred-Twelve – Don't Let It
Laurel topped the stack of stones and nodded at its size. If Marino returned, then he'd need a bag to take them all.
She became alert when she noticed Stefan's scent coming towards her. She looked up and noticed he was carrying Marino towards her.
The boy wasn't asleep or crying so she wondered why. Her scent was still hidden so she hoped Stefan wouldn't ask why. Marino smiled as they got close.
Laurel smiled back but it vanished when she realized Stefan watched her. "I guess you're tired of him now, Alpha. Let's go back in, Marino."
The little boy looked sad. "Tired of me…"
Stefan pulled the boy from Laurel's hold, frowning at her. "Could you be more considerate of his feelings? I only think he should sleep early."
Laurel realized and rubbed Marino's cheeks, as he was on Stefan's body, "I'm sorry."
