Chapter Two Hundred-Eleven – Under The Tree II
Stefan stared at the little man wide-eyed.
He was more emotionally intelligent than he'd expect a toddler to be or wasn't he a toddler?
Stefan looked at him keenly. He never appropriated the right ages to people but at that point, he sort of saw little Marino as an old wise man.
"You noticed she was tired. That's awfully smart of you, young man." His shoulders slumped. "I don't even know when I'm tired. Only Sorren realizes."
Marino didn't understand all the man had said but he left the ground and patted Sorren's head. He noticed his shoulders slump so added. "Don't cry."
Stefan felt it strange that he actually felt comforted by the little boy. Would the boy still be nice to him if he knew who he was? The thought of the little boy looking at him in hatred or fear worried him.
