Chapter Two Hundred-Nine – Teaching
Darren stepped into the palace, with Jessika by his side.
He'd told the cook to return so she'd not be targeted but she insisted on using him to go into the kitchen to see her old friends. She was always reckless.
"Isn't that the kitchen?" Darren glanced at an abandoned shed. Jessika followed his line of sight and scowled.
Then she began laughing. "Sir Darren, don't tell me your kitchen looks abandoned like that?"
He sighed, looking at other places. For Jessika's sake, no one should meet them together, or it'd raise questions on how he knew her. He had prepared an answer to that, but it'd be better if he didn't use it.
"You must be good friends."
Darren froze, before mentally face palming.
Jessika turned behind her, her humored expression fading. "Beta Cade! N-Not really. I was just walking the guest to the Alpha."
