Chapter Hundred-Forty – Panic
Why didn't he sense anything before the sword got buried in his insides? Baxter pushed the girl back and pointed the sword at her.
They were in equal positions now. She's tired with a sword and he was injured with a sword.
He'd be handling it quickly, because the blood spilling from his side will surely tire him out.
She lunged at him but he dodged it and slashed her arm with his sword, not deep enough.
He noticed his hands begin to tremble. The effects of the wolfsbane had started. He had to finish this quickly.
The girl shouted as she lunged at him again, but he parried and rose her sword to her neck.
Panic flashed in her eyes as he pressed the sword to her neck and her blood sprayed on her face, she fell limply to the ground.
Baxter held his hand with the other. Blood wasn't circulating properly anymore. He looked ahead. Should he keep going or fall back and ask for help?
