With how healthy Ferdinand looked, Laurel was sure he had been hidden there with supplies. "Wait."
The boy paused.
"Why is she here, hungry and dying, when I'm sure you obviously had a way to help her?" Laurel asked.
Lisa tended to the woman, trying to put water in her mouth, while overlooking the stench coming from her.
She wondered how the princess was able to cope with the stench so tried to cope with it too.
"Well, we had to feed her son. So I picked the most useful of them." Ferdinand replied. "She was told to leave but she stayed there. In that case—"
"Is that really your excuse?" Laurel shouted. "You needed to feed either she or her son? Are they animals? Couldn't you—"
She still spoke when Ferdinand began walking away.
"I'm still talking to you—"
