Chapter Ninety-Two – Zeno
An eternity must have passed before Laurel found her voice again. "Elma." She said out loud. "Do you want to take over? I kind of want to black out now."
"Because you killed rogues trying to kill you?" Elma had a mocking tone. It made Laurel frown.
It wasn't like she was a saint who was against killing. Just that she killed without having the intention to kill.
She had been trying to save herself from pain. Laurel's eyes went down to her dress, ripped at some parts and stained with blood. Such a mess.
She couldn't return to the ball like that. She still had to find Sorren. Her eyes darted about her, at the bodies on the ground. She saw the heart, it had stopped moving.
Laurel rubbed her head, exhaling. "Elma, on second thoughts, I'd handle myself." She rose to her feet.
"As you should." Her wolf replied.
