Rosealie Stonehaven didn't always grow up around the royal family in her kingdom of Solar. It was something she had to adjust to when she was 10. At that time her father was recognized for his valor during the war and due to his efforts was given a lordship, thus thrusting the family of six into the royal sphere. While it didn't change much of their home life it did change the family's outside world. It also gave the royals better access to the family's castle in the mountain.
Before Rosealie was born her grandparents bought mountain property that went for sale at auction. Once bought her grandfather had a local masonry guild carve out a castle into the the mountain for him and his wife to live in while leaving a chateau, with fields and an empty boarding school to Rosale's father. While her grandfather was a great business man who made the family enough to live off of for 20 plus generations he was never given a lordship. Her father on the other hand was a knight through and through so much so that he started an elite training school (out of the empty boarding school) when his three son's were of age to start learning how to properly fight and before the war started. It was because of this training school that the war was shortened and many lives were saved and how his lordship started.
Hence at 10 years old Rosalie, with Sapphire blue hair like her entire family, tan skin from playing outside all the time and dark brown eyes that sometimes looked black, was set up on a play date with the kingdoms only princess Rea Sunblossm. The queen Sora had always wanted to explore the castle in the mountain so when the family came into lordship and she found out their daughter was the same age as Rea she jumped at the opportunity to set them up on a play date at the mountain castle. This began a life long friendship between the two girls. Rea was a shy child, with bright curly red hair pale skin and a spattering of freckles across her cheeks and nose her eyes were the color of deep emeralds and she also had a crown birth mark under her right ear which every member born into the royal family had. Rea loved books and dolls and Rosalie (having three older brothers) was adventurous and always wanting to play with swords instead of dolls. The two truly bonded over fairytales that had adventure and love along with exploring and learning different plants in the garden. They also both disliked the etiquette classes the queen required these two to take.
Over the years both girls got together as often as they could and in doing so came to know each other's families as if they were their own. As they got to the age of liking people Rosealie found herself liking Rea's older brother Carter and his two best friends Theo and Edwin. While Rea was finding she liked Rosealie's eldest brother Mathias. Both girls supported each other's crushes because no matter who they loved as a partner they loved each other as best friends. And nothing would get in the way of that.
When their coming of age party happened on their 20th birthday Rea asked Rosealie to be one of her ladies in waiting so they could always be near eachother and this allowed Rosealie to pursue her love of swordfighting while helping Rea to find true love.
Which is what they have been doing for five years now and this is where the story begins.
