The sounds of muddled footsteps appear all around, and voices mix and combine in a messy reverb.
"I can't believe this is happening..." A man, whose voice in slight agony shook as he spoke.
A woman standing next to him, nerves pushing her to itch her arms whispered in a harsh tone,
"Just be happy, that we found our baby!"
He shook his head in response, "I am happy, I just want to know what happened.."
The woman was wearing a beautiful green dress, with pearls hanging from her neck laying across the soft tight fabric, her name was Lilly. The man across from her is Mark, he is tall, his stature reaching 6'2", and he's donned a dark gray suit, but his baby blue eyes stand out the most.
They were both looking down at their lost son, who just reappeared in the middle of the night, Alex.
---
As slow as the sun rises light starts to peek into Alex's state of unconsciousness, his eyelids squeezed together attempting to block the light. They failed as his eyes opened sooner than expected.
He looked around, his bright blue eyes peeking around the dim room, he couldn't remember anything, not one thing.
He starts to panic at his slight discomfort, sitting up too quickly. Way too quick.
A wave of pain breathed into his head, causing him to grip his hair, in an attempt to relieve it.
Thoughts such as, 'Where am I?', 'Who am I?', and 'Why am I here?' all flooded his blank mind.
No matter how long, or how much he thought, nothing responded to him.
The next best thing he thought to himself, was to see how he looked.
Gathering himself out of the fluffy blanket plastered over him, he reached his feet out, stepping on the cold wooden floor.
In the distance was a tall mirror, with designs decorating it.
He approached it, the creaking of wood announcing his presence as he dashed towards the mirror.
'Is this me?' He thought to himself, doubt flooding his freshly painted mind.
'Brown hair', 'And I don't like my eyes much...' They reminded him of something, but he didn't know what.
Before he could peer at his reflection any longer, a hurry of footsteps flurried the door as a worried voice peeked out from behind,
"Alex, are you awake?"
A few seconds of silence followed,
"Alex?". "Is everything okay?"
The sound of a body hitting the floor reaches the woman's ears.
She starts to jangle the door handle before shouting, "Mark! Get up here now!"
Alex didn't respond, and couldn't respond. As he was now in another reality altogether.
It happened at the moment he heard the footsteps approaching the door, he was surrounded in a fierce battle. Between beings far larger, beautiful, and scarier than anything he has seen...
