The Great Hunters Academy of South Korea. Home to aspiring youths of the next generation hoping to be hunters one day. Only those who have the courage and determination can walk on the path to be a hunter.
Morning [8:52 am]
Hee-sung and Sangpil ran up the hill towards their school together. It was a 10 minuite climb cut half if they ran. Knowing what the consequences of being late would be motivated them to run faster. Beads of sweat ran down Hee-sungs face, Sangpil... like streams. Sangpil was heavier in weight than Hee-sung but his strength wasn't to be underestimated, as the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover. However, his stamina needed improvement.
The two friends hated the hill that led up to the school especially when they weren't only carrying their own weight up but their textbooks too. And with it nearing the peak of summer wasn't making it any easier Sometimes He thinks his aunt Cha picked where they live on purpose just to get a little extra "excersise". She'd do something that evil.
"(Pant*) Hee-sung..... slow .... down... please" Sang pil panted
"Phew" Hee-sung wiped the sweat from his forehead straightened and looked back at his struggling friend.
"Sang-pil, you know what will happen if we're even 1 minuite late to class" both boys shiver at the thought.
Trudging towards his struggling friend, Hee sung takes his friends bag putting it on his front.
"Hee-sung... you don't have to"
"Ha ha Just say thank you"
"What would I do without you" Sang pil fake cried wipping a fake tear again that could be mistaken for sweat away.
With the gate in the distance both students picked up the pace. Their Combat teacher, Mr Gi-Cheol was closing the gate on them because they were approaching closing time. The time was 8:59 and gates shuts at 9:00. Mr Gi-Cheol was counting down on his pocket stop watch
"10...9....8....7..."
Jjst then Hee-Sung and Sang-pil were pleading near begging him to not close the gates.
"MR GI-CHEOL..... (pant*) WAIT....(pant*).... PLEASE!!" Hee-sung breathed out.
"6....5....4...3....2....1 CLANG!!*"
Just then he closed the gate and the bell rang 3 times indicating they were now in fact late.
They reached the gate 3 seconds after both held onto the gate like prisoners holding onto the bars of a jail cell attempting to compose themselves before they tried getting out of their oncoming punishment.
On the other side of the gates stood Mr Gi-Cheol arms crossed leaning on the bricked wall looking unimpressed, were the sign that said The Great Hunter Academy was written in gold letters plated and bolted to it.
"You boys know the rules. 10 laps each around the field" Mr Gi-Cheol gave them their ultimatum.
"1 month into your first year of the 1st semester and you both have already been late 3 times" he said displeased and not wanting to hear their excuses.
"But sir, you know we both live at the bottom of the hill right, plus the weather is sweltering please have some sympathy" Hee-Sung exclaimed Sang-Pil beside him nodding vigorously.
"No buts, you both are 1st years and not making a good impression, now if you continue to be late disciplinary action will be taken. If you don't want that, get up earlier or leave earlier so you can walk not run up the hill. I appreciate the enthusiasm but rules are rules, so 20 laps. If you start now you should finish before your first lesson. And you know if your late to lesson your on bathroom duty" Mr Gi-Cheol said, arms folded.
The two boys looked at each other and sighed accepting their fate.
Mr Gi-Cheol opened the gates and let the two in so they could start serving their time.
Mr Gi-Cheol full name Lee Gi-Cheol was a B Rank hunter. After suffering a leg injury he took it as a sign to retire not wanting to risk losing his life and missing out on his young daughters childhood. After making this difficult decision, still wanting to contribute to society, he decided to teach the next generation on "how not to die in a dungeon" After they graduate.
He had a harsh and tough personality as he was big in stature but you could tell he was kind at heart and truly cares about his students futures.
-------------
Hee-sung and Sang-pil begrudgingly finished their punishment of 10 laps around the field with 10 minuits left to spare before their first lesson of the day History was to begin. if Hee-sung new he was still going to be late he at least wouldnt have ran as much as he did.
The first lesson of the day they shared together was history. since they missed homeroom due to their laps they went to class 3-3 (3rd grade classroom 3) based off of their entrance exam scores, Classrooms were divided based on level of competence. There are 10 classes each having around 30 students making up the whole first grade totaling 300 students. 1st years were on the 1st floor, 2nd years on the second and 3rd years on the third floor.
From classes 1-10 class 1 being the strongest (A Class) and smartest followed through to F being the class with worst grades. Behind the categorising of classes in numbers was the categorising in which was similar to hunter terms. class 1 = A+, Class 2 = A, Class 3 = B+ Class 4 = B Class 5 = C+, Class 6 = C, Class 7 = D+, Class 8 = D, Class 9 = E- = and Class 10 = F-
The reason why these hunter grading terms are similar and not the same as pluses on the end of these classes are known as fine grading meaning there is always an opportunity of moving up a class after short exams throughout the year. This system was also made so by the board of Hunters education so that "friendly" competition would be made and everyone will become good colleagues who knows each other and can work together after graduation.
The reason why F and E both had minuses instead of pluses is because there was no thing good about it. you had to fight to stay out of it and fight to get out of it. They were the worst and weakest classes in terms of academic ability and strength. E was just a little better than F but everyone tried to avoid being put into those classes. Combined, E- and F- Classes made up of 30% of the 3st grade of 300 students.
The Academy had a strict no bullying policy however, with some students in higher classes having influential parents that "donated" to the Academy certain things were... "forgiven" hence why discrimination to the lower classes sometimes went ignored not wanting to get on the bad side of their powerful parents. Wherever there is power there is corruption.
