While Klus distracted the human guests, Qrir returned to his lady's side, awaiting the visit of the queen's loyalists. And he didn't have to wait long.
Standing next to the doorway that led to the landing pad, Qrir heard their wings before he even saw who it was, followed by their thoughts.
He kept his head as devoid of thought as he could, as he watched Akkes walk into the place like he was owed something, with two soldiers trailing behind him.
Akkes made eye contact with Qrir, and scanned the room, seeing the blood splatters and the lady grooming herself slowly of the blood on her plumage.
"Where are the prisoners, Commander?" Akkes asked, his tone acidic.
Qrir looked at him before pointing at the blood splatters.
"Where do you think they are, Sergeant? This isn't our kin's blood."
Akkes clapped his beak in anger, stepping toward his commander.
"The queen asked me to fetch the humans. What have you done with them?"
