Jhonny instantly went into a fighting stance, his mind on high alert.
Lady Irreek looked at him with curiosity.
"Calm down, little one," Commander Qrir said, putting his wing on Jhonny's back.
Jhonny jumped back, landing next to Sarah.
"The hell you mean, calm down?! Your lady just asked us to die for her!" he shouted.
The lady brought her wing to her face, clapping her beak in a snappy, saccade beat.
Jhonny looked at her, Sarah standing behind him, suddenly on edge.
"Is she laughing? Why is she laughing?" Jhonny asked Qrir, confused.
He heard the long sigh as the birdman exhaled and frowned.
"She meant that metaphorically speaking, little one. No one is dying. We just need you to die so the queen doesn't look for you. But we are not going to kill you. Just hide you and say we disposed of your bodies after you tried attacking her."
Lady Irreek opened her beak, whistling a lovely tune.
