Alicia pored over the stones, her eyes deciphering the ancient symbols etched into each one. As she did, she envisioned treacherous traps and challenges etched on each zeuong stone - flying spares, deadly pitfalls, and other sinister obstacles. Yet, her gaze lingered on the stone in her left hand, which remained eerily clear and free of any traps. This eerie clarity seemed strange to her, leading her to suspect that her selection by the universe as the guardian of the hidden land had granted her a secret power. With a thoughtful expression, she clear her mind and focus on the traps ahead her.
Alicia jumped onto the stone, her feet landing with a soft thud. Jake followed closely behind, his eyes fixed intently on her every move. As she stood on the stone, a vision suddenly unfolded before her - a vivid memory of their return from their last adventure together. She saw herself and Jake walking side by side, weary but triumphant, when suddenly the sky darkened and a torrent of rain came pouring down. The memory was so real, she could almost smell the wet earth and feel the raindrops pounding against her skin.
"Alicia, we need to find a place to hide from the rain before you get soaked to the bone," Jake said, his voice laced with concern as he gazed at her with piercing golden fire eyes. Alicia nodded, her long hair whipping around her face in the wind.
"There!" she exclaimed, spotting a nearby cave behind the waterfall. "We can take shelter there." Without hesitation, she grasped Jake's hand, and together they sprinted towards the cave, the rain pounding against their skin like a thousand tiny drums.
As they continued on their journey, she noticed a fluffy white bunny hopping around in circles, looking utterly lost. Her heart melted at the sight, and she quickly knelt down to scoop up the bunny. "Aww, poor little thing," she cooed, cradling the bunny in her arms. "You look like you've lost your way home."
Jake, who had been walking ahead, noticed her stopping and turned back to see what had caught her attention. His eyes widened as he saw the bunny in her arms, and a warm smile spread across his face. "Looks like you've got a new friend there," he said, his voice filled with amusement.
She smiled up at him, her eyes shining with compassion. "I think I'll call her Snowflake," she said, gently stroking the bunny's soft fur. "She's so tiny and adorable, I can't just leave her here all alone."
Jake nodded in agreement, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Well, Snowflake, it looks like you're in good hands now. You've got a new friend who'll take care of you."
"I'll take care of her," she said, her voice filled with determination and compassion, as she cradled Snowflake in her arms. "She's safe now. I'll make sure she has a warm and cozy home, plenty of fresh veggies to munch on, and lots of love and snuggles." She looked up at Jake with a smile, her eyes shining with kindness. "We'll be a happy little family, won't we, Snowflake?" The bunny twitched its whiskers and nuzzled her chest, as if agreeing to the plan. Jake's heart melted at the scene, and he knew that Snowflake was in good hands.
She gasped in wonder, her eyes fixed on the vision as it faded away, leaving her standing on the stone. The image of Snowflake and Jake had vanished, but the memory of their sweet encounter lingered in her mind. She felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over her, as if the brief glimpse into their lives had brought her a sense of joy and wonder. She stood there for a moment, savoring the feeling, before finally turning to continue on her journey. The stone beneath her feet seemed to hum with a gentle energy, as if it too had been touched by the magic of the vision.
Alicia jumped onto the right stone in front of her when she saw another scene of herself in her grandpa's study room. "Grandpa," she called out, going to take a seat on his lap.
"Yes, child, what do you want from your old pa?" her grandpa asked.
"Grandpa, why is everyone scared of you, including Dad and Mom? Most people can't even say your name or look at you in the face," she said.
"Ah, my child, it is because they do not understand me," her grandfather replied, his voice low and gentle, his eyes filled with a deep wisdom. "They see only the outside, the gruff exterior, and they fear what they do not comprehend. But you, my dear, you see beyond the surface, you see the heart within. That is why you are not afraid, why you can look me in the eye and call me by name." He stroked her hair, his touch warm and comforting. "Your parents, they love me, but they do not understand me, not like you do. You have a special gift, Alicia, a gift of seeing beyond the veil, of understanding the depths of the heart." The memory faded, leaving Alicia with a sense of wonder and awe, and a deeper understanding of her grandfather's wisdom and love.
She leaped onto the landed on the final stone when another scene appeared: she was with her mom in her dressing room.
"Mom, do you think Selina hates me?" she asked while her mom style her hair.
"I don't think so, Alicia. She's just overprotective of you since you're still young," her mom replied.
"Oh," was all she said, her voice barely a whisper. the only words that left her lip as her mom styled her hair. The memory faded, leaving Alicia with a lingering sense of unease as she stepped onto the now-clear floor, free from traps.
Jake emerged from the trap with a triumphant grin, his eyes shining with excitement. As he turned to Alicia, his expression changed to one of concern. He noticed the peculiar look on her face, her eyes distant and lost in thought. "Alicia, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice soft with concern. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
