Chapter 1 - Death

A man seem to be in his late twenties was running to his home comes to a screeching halt and screamed.

"Holy fuck!!"

Jason screamed as a rat the size of a cat crawled out of a sewer and ran across the street.

'God fucking damnit, these fucking rats are getting out of hand. It wouldn't be a surprise if they start wielding katanas and fighting against an ancient Japanese clan with their mutated turtle sons."

Thought Jason as he shakes his head. These rats have been a problem to the city as long as he can remember. They probably already have a secret society inside the sewers and has been plotting to take over the world.

Putting those thoughts aside, he resumes running to his apartment as he has been itching to go home. He just finished his shift as a cashier in a supermarket and is in a hurry because his favorite anime One Piece just released it's 733th epsiode earlier today. Luffy's battle against Doflamingo will probably conclude today and he can't wait to see how Luffy will knock out that mentally deranged of a pirate named Doflamingo.

He already knows Luffy will win because he's the main character. Though that doesn't mean Luffy always won against his enemies with his status as a protagonist. It's just that this is the climax with his battle against Doflamingo and dragging it to another fight later on would just be bullshit.

He comes to a stop again as he sees an old woman on the sidewalk across the street. She seems to have drop her paper bag with fruits inside and has been struggling to pick them up. He crossed the street while taking out an eco bag from his backpack that he got from work and helped her picked up the fruits and store them inside the bag.

"Here you go. You'd be able to carry them easier this way."

"Thank young man. This is very kind of you"

"Oh it's nothing really" Jason replied with a smile.

"You shouldn't be outside this late at night. There's a lot of dangerous people in this area."

"Oh don't worry about me. I'm already old. I've already lived for a long time and wouldn't complain if I were to die now."

Jason only gave her an awkward smile at that remark.

"Thank you again for the help Jason. As a reward. Here's a gift for your help. It'll grant you everything that you desire. Well not really everything. Just 3. You should know how to use it" She said while taking out a golden object from her shoulder bag.

Jason received the object and exclaimed.

"Damn! Is this a genie lamp? Wait, how'd you know my name?"

"It's on your name tag boy"

She pointed at his left chest.

He looks down at his uniform with his name still on it and sighed in relief. He remembered that he didn't bother changing clothes and just ran out with his stuff after he finished his shift and clocked out.

"Hehe. For a second I thought you were some kind of witch that can read minds. You gave me a mini heart attack."

"Well, that wouldn't be far from the truth actually."

"Huh?"

"I'm not a witch but I can read minds."

'What the hell is she talking about? Is this granny a nut job?'

The old woman glared at him as soon as he finished that thought.

"I'm not a nut job."

He was shocked.

'Wait, can she actually read minds?'

"Yes. Yes, I can. Anyway, I'll get going now. My cats are waiting for me" She said while still glaring at him.

"Uh okay. Get home safe"

Jason watched as the old woman walked away.

'Damn! What the hell was that!?.'

He thought as he starts walking home with the golden lamp in his hands, losing his initial excitement as he went over the talk he just had with that granny. He really thinks she can actually read minds.

Unbeknownst to him, that exchange he had with the grandma was observed by a man with blood shot eyes and hands fidgeting. Telltale signs that he wasn't in his right mind is probably an addict.

'That golden lamp will probably fetch me a lot of money. Probably enough to get me enough crack to last me for a few weeks'

He smiled wickedly at that thought. He followed Jason and waited for an opportunity to get his loot.

Meanwhile, Jason was rubbing the golden lamp as he was walking thinking it might actually be the real thing because that granny was able to read his mind.

After a minute of rubbing it while walking, nothing happened. He was disappointed. He took off his bag planning to put the lamp inside when it suddenly started to glow golden, pulsating like a heart that only got stronger as time passed. He ran to the nearest alley he could find with a huge smile on his face.

"Woohoo!"

-

'Is that an actual genie lamp?'

The man following him saw the scene and ran after him while pulling out a folding knife from his pocket.

Jason stood in the middle of the alley and placed the lamp on the ground. Rubbing his palms together, he waited for the genie to come out as the lamp stopped it's pulsating glow and only shining intensely. Blue smoke started to come out of it slowly forming a huge humanoid man.

"Oh my god! Yes!! A fucking Genie!"

Jason started jumping in excitement when sudenly he was grabbed and thrown to the ground by a man.

"What the fu-!!?"

The man said nothing as he started stabbing Jason over and over again while laughing maniacally.

Jason experienced the worst pain he ever felt. He reached for the man's face and arms as he started begging.

"Ugh. Sto...p. D...don't... kill m-e. Ple... please..."

"Hahahaha! The lamp is mine! That genie is mine! I'm going to be rich! I'm going to be the most powerful man in the world! "

Tha man laughed as he continued stabbing Jason.

He felt fear and despair. Is this it? Is he going to die? What has he done to deserve this? He wasn't the kindest man but he never went out of his way to hurt someone. He felt regret. He should've waited till he got home to summon the genie. Now he's paying for that mistake with his life.

The man didn't listened to his pleas and he was stabbed a total of 50 times for several minutes.

He died. Lying in a pool of his own blood.

The man huffed as he looked at the man he just murdered. It was actually his first time killing someone but he didn't care and just turned his head at the lamp, waiting for the genie to complete it's formation.

After a minute of waiting, the fully formed ten meters tall Genie opened his eyes and spun around three times greeting the man and introduced himself.

"Oh great one who summons me, terrible one who commands me I stan- What the heck!? What happened here? Why is my master dead?"

"Your master? No! I am your master! Now obey my commands and make me the riche-"

"No. You're not my master"

*Splat*

A beam landed at the man's forehead and his head exploded. The Genie looked at Jason's body and shook his head.

"Tsk tsk. Now what to do? This guy was supposed to be my master. I can't just let him go since it's my fault he died. Damn it. I just wanted to make a dramatic entrance."

He opened his palm and a blue orb was formed and sent inside Jason's body and fused with his heart.

He then waved his arm around and blue mist covered the alley and after several seconds, the Genie, Jason and the murderer's body disappeared from the alley including the lamp and all traces of what happened in the past few minutes.
