Sarah's POV:
"She is in her hometown; anyway, come downstairs soon." Elma's mother stood and left the library.
I took out my phone and took a picture before I dropped the album and stared at the coffee. It was cocoa coffee, my lips curled in disgust. I went downstairs and saw the maids serving lunch.
Elma's dad was now sitting on the couch; he must have already completed his meetings. "Elma, come here."
I was scared of approaching him. What if he hits me again? "Go on," her mother urged me. I nodded before I slowly walked towards him, and he signaled that I sit next to him, which I did.
"Ken says the kids are hanging out at his place today," he said, and I nodded. Why was he telling me that?
"Well, you should come to the meeting in three days... I have an announcement to make."
"Meeting?" Which meeting and what announcement was he talking about? "The one you barged in last time, remember?"
