"B... But..." I bit my lips from saying more than necessary. I was yet to confirm if they actually shot Evren, what if they didn't and then I exposed us. But what if they did? What if Evren was actually shot?
I wanted to see him, to know he was okay, but I doubt Dalton would let me. I doubt he would let me out of his sight.
I wiped my tears and raised the sheets above my body. The sound of the gun I had heard earlier rang in my ears occasionally and it scared me. I couldn't imagine my life without Evren, he's my only means of escape from the world my father had dragged me into.
