Jessica rushed home since she was grounded. Surprisingly, she saw her mom's car outside which was unusual at that time if the day.
She unlocked their entrance door then went in. Jessica found her mom hugging her dad.
"Dad?, Why are you back?"
"Is that how you greet?" Her mom asked
" Good afternoon mom and dad. Now back to my question".
"I decided to surprise you" her dad replied.
"Surprised?, I'm not, shocked I am".
"Why are you shocked?"her dad asked.
"I just did not expect to see you".
"Well I'm here now".
"I'd better go freshen up before mom starts shouting". Jess said
"Do I shout?" Her mom asked
"Yes sometimes, No I mean always".
" You better go before I start shouting".
After showering and getting dressed Jess went downstairs to eat, she found her dad cooking.
"Whatever you're cooking smells nice"
"Scents nice ". He corrected
" So what are you cooking?"
"Egg sauce and rice".
"Jess, are you eating sauce and rice or stew and rice?" Her mom asked
"Why would I eat stew and rice when dad cooked egg sauce?".
"My bad for asking a simple question".
" Your bad ". Jess replied
"Jessica Davies, you were rude to your mom".
"I wasn't".
"You were, apologize now" her father commanded
"I'm sorry mom".
"Sorry fir yourself" her mom said
"Darling please forgive her" her father pleaded
"I will, just because you are asking sweetheart".
"Thanks mom" Jess said
"Can we eat in peace now?" Her father asked rhetorically
"Jess set the table" her mom Instructed
Jessica ate fast like a hungry lion to the extent that she almost choked on the food
"(Coughs) mom water"
"Drink up".
Jessica stood up to go to her room
" Where are you going to ?" Her mom asked
"My room"
" To do what?" Her mom asked
" My assignments"
" But you have not finished your food" her father said
"I'm fine eating dad"
"Jess sit down and finish your food" her mom said.
" Mom I've got things to do".
" Jess your mom told you to sit so sit" her sad said
"Dad I'm busy".
"(Angrily) Jessica don't make me slap you. I said sit down" Jessica's father shouted
She say down immediately and finished her food.
She went upstairs to do her assignments. she had an issue with question three of mathematics assignment, so she called paxton.
"Hey paxton".
"Hi Jessica, what's popping?"
"Popcorn"
"Funny, how are you using your phone, you're grounded".
"Seems like my mom forgot".
"Good for you".
" My dad is back". Jess revealed
"Really? I know you're so happy".
"I am".
" Why did you call?".
" I'm having a problem with question three in mathematics".
" I'm also having the same problem".
" Can you come over so we can tackle it together?".
" Sure, why not".
" See you soon best".

Jessica ran downstairs to inform her parents about paxton coming over
" Mom, dad, paxton is coming over"
" Why is he coming?"her mom asked
"Who's paxton?" Her dad asked
" Paxton is my best friend and we have assignments to do together".
" No visitors allowed, you are grounded remember?" Her mom said
" Allow her sweetheart, it's an educational visit".
" Yes sir, I will definitely allow her at your command"her mom said
"What are you saying mom?".
" I'm talking to your father, my sir!" .
" Darling stop being sarcastic" her dad said
"Mom can you prepare some sandwiches for us?"
" Sure"
" What should I do for you?" Her dad asked
" Just help mom in the kitchen".
Ding ding, the bell rang.
Jess ran to open the door.
