"Look at that, seems like you've got a trick similar to your mother's," Lucas said with a sneering smile. "So, that's how you hid from me when you killed those three? Didn't expect them to be fooled so easily."
"Huh?" Edward tilted his head to the side with a disgusted expression. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"Oh, come on..." As Lucas spoke, a small illusion of three of him appeared. Then, upon hearing a snapping noise, five arms made of golden mana materialized, floating around Edward. Threads emerged from his fingertips, winding around Edward's neck, both arms, and legs.
The hands, which were initially open, closed, tightening the threads against Edward's skin.
All of this happened in the brief pause between Lucas's previous sentence and the one that concluded with, "You're not in a situation where you can joke around."
