The next day was the weekend. Wynonna had no classes, so she went to the hospital to visit her grandfather, Samuel Long.
"Winnie, you're finally here. I was about to give you a call." Her father saw Wynonna enter the hospital ward and stood up immediately with a very serious look on his face.
"Dad, what's wrong? What happened?" Wynonna's heart sank. She had a bad feeling.
"This morning, someone from the hospital informed us that Dr. Smith, who was supposed to perform Grandpa's surgery, has something even more important to do and has to cancel our appointment. Now we have to look for another surgeon..." Charles let out a sigh. "But all the available surgeons are all very young and have very little experience. I'm afraid..."
Heart surgery was an extremely intricate procedure, and the risk was higher than other surgeries, hence why they wanted to choose an experienced surgeon.
