Jack was utterly stunned. He remembered that man, the current head of the Mullers, the number one aristocrat in Pennvale. He was there too when Clarence Wilbur came looking for trouble.
"You could go home now, kid. I'll take her home." Shane looked at him with cold eyes. He then hoisted Wyonna from the chair like he had been doing it all the time, helping her to the car.
Jack watched the man leave with his mouth agape, yet he didn't say anything.
Wyonna said that Shane was a friend of her father before, which made him like an uncle of hers. She was currently staying in their place, and he was her second guardian.
Jack had no idea how Wyonna came to know some big shot like that, yet what made him feel out of place was how that man was staring daggers at him.
Shane was practically dragging Wyonna along as he walked before stopping and telling him, "I'm tired. I'm not walking anymore."
