On Monday morning, Wynonna met Jack and Chloe at the school entrance.
Jack saw her and started to say something but again changed his mind. Instead, he asked, "Wyn, did you like the birthday gifts we gave you?"
Wynonna nodded without thinking. "Yes, I liked them."
Jack had given her her favorite novels, and Chloe had given her comic books. These two are truly siblings.
"Oh, I'm glad you liked them." Jack smiled at her reply. He then tried to dig deeper and asked, "Which book did you like best?"
Wynonna thought for a while and replied, "I like 'I Probably Won't Love You' the best."
The smile on Jack's face froze, and he sounded a little dejected, "I see. So that's your favorite book..."
Did she see the book he had placed on top and guessed what was on his heart and used this way to reject him?
