The doctor thought for a second and replied, "It's unclear what the reason is. Maybe it's the effect of the medicine. Maybe it's caused by her period. Calm down and go rest at home first. Come back in two weeks. Maybe it'll grow out by then."
Daniel felt miserable, but he knew there was no answer at the moment. All he could do was to wait.
As Alice came out of the restroom, Daniel took her arm and thanked the doctor before leaving the hospital.
At home, Alice lost her liveliness and laid still on the bed.
Daniel knew she was worried about the baby. Although he was even more miserable, he was afraid of showing it. If he broke down, she wouldn't be able to keep up.
He went to the kitchen to make creamy spinach soup and brought it to her room.
"Alice, I made you some soup. Have some."
Daniel put it on the bedside table and sat down beside her.
Alice looked pale, "No thank you. I'm good."
